Oh wow. Better start letting some more bines come up and get trained I don't know if those are going to make it. Sorry friend that's awful

Agreed, never spray when windy. Never sprayed 2-4D but I believe it’s a heavy hitter.
    Good luck.

2,4-D is a great herbicide for dandelions. Not so much for hops . . .

Bummer about the setback. Is that coax you're using for the line?

I went through them when I bought most of my plants. Most held up well. Took a lot to keep them alive over the first winter here in Maine. No real complaints either here.

I usually use rope but those plants didn't survive. That one survived so I just let it go.

I have a spool of about 100' of coax service drop wire and am wondering if you found it to be effective, or if it was too smooth.

I have a couple plants that like going up my galvanized 1/4" 7 strand.

[IMG]My Cashmere hop plant is sad 2 days after transfer; my Hallertau MF, however, is doing great. Do you think this shock from transfer into ground or do I have a fallen soldier?

I dug up and transplanted two Goldings rhizomes. After a couple days one of them looked great like your Cashmere and the other looked like your HM until I gave them both a good drink. The weakling perked right up within 24 hours.
Like Gorm sez, keep them watered.

@riptorn @GormBrewhouse about how much water per day do you give your plants when they are at this stage?

My Chinook are going batshit crazy with this warmer weather. I even trained the rhizome down to just 3 bines, and they're all over the place. I'll post a pic soon!

Actual quantity would depend on your soil type and how well it drains. It's a bit of a balancing act but not that hard to figure out. When mine wilted I watered until the dirt was plenty moist, but not muddy or puddling, to roughly a 12" radius and 2 - 3" below the surface. A bit of mulch would help too.
I'm frequently away from the garden for a week at a time so I installed soaker hoses on a timer programmed to run M-W-F, depending on the rain forecast. That wouldn't be necessary for someone who's home daily and has a watering can or a hose nozzle that can produce a gentle flow.

I'm giving hops one more shot. In Carlsbad NM, on of the worst places on earth to grow hops, my cascades and Magnum did excellent. When we moved to a much better area(climatewise) I brought about 100 Cascade rhyzomes and a dozen Magnum. I planted them, they almost all did well for a couple of months and then they all died, every single one of them. Last year I planted a bunch of Neomexicanus, they did the same. This year I've completely reworked the soil, adding a lot of compost and I've planted Cascade, magnum, Sterling and Willamette. If these survive I'll plant some C-hops next year
