I joined in 2012, so that puts me at risk of pissing off myself. Does that make it ironic? Oh, GOD! What have I done?!

The Michelob website, on the product page for Michelob lager: http://www.michelob.com/ExploreMichelob.aspx

Yeah there seems to be some inconsistencies with the IBU levels they list and the numbers that the breweries themselves claim for their beers. Usually the Finnish breweries list EBU, plato and color for their brands on their own websites which is different from how it is in Sweden.
Alko tests the products but I'm not sure about the frequency of those tests, if it's once a year for every product or if they mostly test the new products and then do follow up tests infrequently on their regular product assortment.

I guess there are a few possible explanations for these differences, either the testing by alko or the producer is flawed, or the recipes have been changed since being tested by Alko, or the recipes for the beers sold in alko differ from the original sold in the US (though there are also inconsistencies in the numbers for some of the Finnish beers as per the information on the brewery websites).

Here is what they say on quality control in general:

michelob light remains the only "light" beer that I have been able to drink, not entirely sure why but years ago I could drink it. Haven't considered it in years...

those beers brought a lot of $ for the breweries, so I,m not sad for their decline.

Red Dog and Ice House (and even their higher ABV version, Ice House Edge) are very alive and well here in MI. I feel like Miller's bottom of the line stuff is what keeps them booming. I'll see 20 people buy an icehouse/high life/ milwaukees best before a Miller Lite. Then again.. It's only 99cents for a 24oz! Quantity over quality in most peoples eyes. They don't call Americans "buzz drinkers" for nothing!

I still like normal Michelob, but it really could benefit from some additional hops. As it stands - it has a nice malty sweetness that just keeps going and going. If it really is 18 IBU's (which probably isn't far off), even taking that to 25 would help immensely. I doubt they'll bother though.
Hopefully they don't dissolve the brand. I look forward to those $1 unlimited Michelob bottles at the Casino Royale every year.

The list seems about right. Wonder how much the lack of advertising is involved. Most of those have high volume cousins that are advertised the hell out of.

Personally I think they could have dug down deep and found #10. So it would be Top #10 beers that are falling off... Weak:rolling_eyes:
