I also got a lot of that smokiness so glad to hear someone else felt that way but I thought it added complexity and didn't detract at all

As a huge HotD fan (and a lover of Cherry Street's clones of Adam as well) I'd love to get my hands on one of these. Given that it's no limit is it insane to assume this won't be crazy hard to trade for despite it being Side Project?

 

Considering Continuation was no limit, sold out quickly, but isn't unattainable in trades/secondary, and Langst is much less in demand, despite being a solid brew, I don't think this will be painful at all.

TBH you should just try to score it at cost from SP and ask for a proxy.

Honestly I doubt this sells out tomorrow. I think it'll hang around the store for a couple days.

 

So what's this like? Haven't tried this style before.

 

I haven’t either, and I’d love to, but the price is a bit much for something I’m not absolutely certain I will love. I’ve spent too much recently.

 

It's really not far off from a barrel aged stout, except it's a bit lighter in heft by Side Project's standards. It's also got a faint smokiness to it. To be clear, if not repetitive, the smoky note is very mild, at least in the b2 I had.

It's certainly not a standard representation of the traditional style, (not that we'd expect that from SP), which originally was tart to sour and typically significantly smokier.

 

Thanks - great summary. Was confused reading about the style in general then seeing some of the reviews. Figured it may be out of my wheelhouse if it was very sour and smokey but now am certainly more interested.

 

Adambier is German for barleywine. Not really but that’s what Langst 2 tasted like

 

It was for sale online with proxy last time and I think sold out same day, but it was $10 less. I really liked b2 and I love hotd adam ftw. I’m hoping this batch taste just like fresh 2010 Adam ftw (still one of my all time favorite beers)

 

Got one. Went and saw sold out underneath it and was like aww damn, but then clicked on it and added it to the cart and it let me go and realized capieche was sold out

 

Do you have to type proxy name in now, or is it still just giving your proxy the order number?
