Hey Terrence. No shooting of the messenger here. I wanted to start by letting you know that we take these, and all accusations of harassment very seriously. We are aware of the situation and are currently conducting an investigation. Please feel free to reach out directly to leadership here at The Bruery if you have any questions - you all have my email and Barry's.

Opened my last last can of Black Tuesday North American Port Barrel aged. What a great beer. Best of the port BT varients IMO. Even better given this wasn't a beer/wine blend, rather the flavor was
    pulled flavor from the barrel.

    This beer was special.

Opened my bottle of Black Tuesday Scotch Barrel, glad there was no peatiness to it!

I haven't opened any of mine yet. But given that peatiness is a characteristics of a scotch barrel, are you saying, it doesn't measure up as a scotch barrel aged ale?

You like it because it doesn't taste like a scotch barrel aged ale?

I had a can of the Double Vanilla last week and, while still excellent, was missing a bit of the spark that it had when fresh.

I opened a 2017 Port BT tonight which I am enjoying very much. I really like that it's got tons of Port flavor without being overly sweet or cloying.

The 17 is Portuguese barrels... Can any Port experts here describe what American Port barrels would bring to the table that's different? Or is it more of just a regional branding thing?

I dig them both, curious what puts the American on top for you?

I cant and wont speak to these claims. But i have had some friends work for the bruery who said the person in question was an absolute nightmare to work with and It seems like its well known within the bruery staff. Since he's been at the bruery forever people turn a blind eye. Nothing to the extent of that instagram post but just being a shitty coworker and person to work with. Belittling employees for nothing and in general being a shitty person for no reason other than he can be because hes been there forever.

Not just that this raises huge harassment issues, but having a shitty manager is a very, very easy way to drive away good people.

I liked it because it had a different barrel/spirit taste to it, I think it’s a solid barrel aged beer

Can't recommend enough. Best and most filling burritos in town. I live in South OC but still make the trek up there once or twice a month for their Cali Burrito its so good.

Not by name, there were a few accounts that ratmagnet posted I recall seing that didn't name a brewery but gave details such as "acclaimed OC brewery" or "GABF winning brewery in OC". Obviously that could be anyone as there's several of those just in the Anaheim area alone.

As far as other OC places, Modern Times (not the Anaheim location specifically I believe, just in general but please correct me here if I'm wrong)/Noble/Asylum were named the most from what I saw.

Darren Moser, formerly of Iron Triangle Brewing? That explains the lewd, inappropriate and "It’s a Bottle Share, Playa!" behavior! :stuck_out_tongue:

I found the North American port barrels BT stuck the right balance between port and BT. Overall, the beer came across almost more like a port then a beer, with BT adding a layer of chocolate..

I went back through my ratings and see I rated BT Port (2014) highly, and much lower on 2016, 2017. I rated 2014 the same as 2020 (4.75 overall).

EDIT: Found the thread, post #139
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...ing-coming-to-l-a-arts-district.278819/page-4

The thread might still exist somewhere in the depths of the Pacific forum, but if you can find the Iron Triangle thread, its a fun read.

The short version of the story that I can recall: Iron Triangle decides to host a "bottleshare" at the brewery, security takes the the bottles away "for storage" upon entering the brewery, then the Iron Triangle dudes and their buddies sat in a "VIP" area and drank most of the bottles while the other attendees got whatever was on tap at Iron Triangle (or something to that effect).

Anyone else, feel free to jump in and fill the gaps or correct me here, but that's what I remember from that thread without digging for it and giving you the details.

I also enjoy the Port BT variants in general. I found that the 2016/2017 version was definitely weakest out of the gate, but the bottles I sat on for a couple years were noticeably better with a bit of age.

They are closed now and they have had trouble finding someone to buy that place. The last I saw/heard was they were renting it out for a comedy on Netflix called Brew Bros or something like that. It was NOT good either...just like Iron Triangle's beers.
