Let's petition the city to shut Lincoln down for that block and let HA do their thing.

Let's not use the words "city", "shut", and "down" for a really long time.

If you like ESB’s even a little bit, Garden Bitter is a must try. It’s a style I really love and this is an excellent example. Look forward to enjoying it as long as it’s around!

Haven't been to Balmoral since a Benthic release a couple FoBAB weekends ago but looking forward to visiting the Beer Garden this weekend. Can someone clarify: are Keeping Together beers available on draft at Balmoral? TIA.

So Soak In the Shadow was a really enjoyable beer for what it is - apple brandy barrel aged stout, which isn't my favorite barrel treatment for a stout. What is with the gelatin addition though? Is this a Veil thing because I've never heard of HA adding that. I assume this adds to the viscosity?

that is disturbing. Why do we need all these weird additives? We need a US beer purity law. At no point have I had a beer and thought “this needs more animal hoof.”

I know nothing of HA/The Veil's purpose for using gelatin in Soak in Shadow but it is commonly used in beer as a fining agent to help clarify or drop yeast, hop and any other debris from the finished product. It actually helps remove unwanted post-fermentation debris from the beer.

Then we'll have to deal with all the, "Sovereign brewer/don't tread on me!" garbage. Next thing you know they're strange bedfellows with all the antivaxxers. Hard pass.

Does anyone know if you can order food from their cafe menu while seated at Balmoral?

Without doing any research, I'm assuming it's a general post regarding the movement for women in the industry right now.

Nothing happened at Half Acre. Half Acre is fairly active politically, and this is in response to all the bad news that’s come out about terrible work environments at breweries across the county.

I for one am offended that women aren't getting the whole acre.

The answer to this was yes. Never sat in their patio space out back.

Despite a good crowd, service was lightning quick. Probably the fastest have ever received beer at a table, and maybe the same with food.

The only knock is it seemed to be pretty expensive comparatively. I think the burger was $16 or $17 and did not come with fries, which were only $3. But in for $20 to have both. Which seems like $4-$5 high? Two burgers, one side of fries, two kids meals, 2 beers and a cider can. With tip was just under $100. Burger was top notch thankfully.

Yeah, this round of the big N however is not hitting distro (*womp-womp*) - maybe next time.
Still can't make Chicago plans without any news about a send-off for Lincoln.
