As of May 10th, 2021 we will no longer be accepting online orders for curbside pickup at our Norfolk location. Our Scott’s Addition location will continue to offer curbside pickup along with shipping of our packaged beer and merchandise. ⁠

Going forward in Norfolk only, we will be returning to our normal operation of offering our packaged items to go for purchase inside our taproom. All previously placed online orders will be honored as curbside pickup until the very last one has been completed. ⁠

We thank everyone for their support through our curbside program in Norfolk and look forward to more small steps back to normalcy like this in the near future. ⁠

is an Imperial Stout made from 100% South American malt aged in Laphroaig Scotch whiskey barrels for 20 months. The beer is inky black with an incredible depth of flavor and richness reminiscent of a fine cigar, after dinner cocktails, campfire, and dark chocolate fudge. 12% ABV⁠

While we are very proud of this beer, we recognize is heavily Scotch forward and it is not for everyone. Laphroaig Scotch whiskey is made from peat malted barley giving it a distinctive peat/smoky flavor that carries over to their whiskey and into this beer.

Dogfish Head releasing their Freaky Friday version of DirtNap today...

"It's Freaky Friday at the Dogfish Head Brewpub! We switched things up a bit at our Rehoboth brewhouse and brewed a straight-up classic ... but not one of our own! We swapped recipes with our friends at The Veil Brewing Co. in Virginia, and brewed up a batch of 'Dirt Nap', their double IPA intensely hopped with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, and Nelson Sauvin hops! Dirt Nap will be available (while it lasts) at our Rehoboth brewpub in 4 packs of 16 oz. cans and on draft, starting today!! A big thank you to our pals at The Veil for swapping recipes with us, and keep an eye out for their release of our 90 Minute IPA from their VA brewery in a few weeks!"

 

Quy (batch 3) is an Imperial Stout brewed in loving memory of our friend Quy Phuoc Pham. Quy was a pillar of the Richmond beer community and we honor him every year with his own special blended barrel-aged Imperial Stout. This years version is a blend of 26-month-old double barrel-aged Imperial Stout, 22-month-old bourbon Imperial Chocolate Milk Stout, and 23-month-old South American Imperial Stout conditioned on raw coconut, coconut cream, maple syrup, marshmallow, and honey. 100% of the proceeds go directly to Quy’s family - his wife Suong and his two children My and Vy. Tastes like liquid S’mores pop tarts and delicious German chocolate cake. 14% ABV.

We are excited to announce the newest in our Freaky Friday collaboration series, The Veil’s version of Dogfish Head’s 90 Minute Imperial IPA!

Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA is our Freaky Friday version of one of our favorite beers of all time. We are incredibly fortunate and thankful to work with the folks Dog Fish Head on this Freaky Friday recipe swap. 90 Minute is continually hopped in the boil every minute on the minute to create a delicious hoppy beer with perfect pine and citrus flavors backed up by a great malt backbone. DFH brewed a version of our beer, Dirt Nap that we thought was perfectly executed and delicious and now it’s our turn. We hope you enjoy.
9% ABV.

VEIL BEERS
Deathless - Märzen lager brewed in June and lagered for the entire summer (over 3 months) in one of our horizontal conditioning tanks. Crisp notes of caramel, biscuit, and honey are well balanced by earthy noble hops. 5.5% ABV

Barrel-Aged Deathless - Our Märzen lager conditioned in wine barrels for a year adding a layer of oak complexity and slight refreshing acidity making this Autumn favorite even more crushable. 6.6% ABV

Dwell - Koelschip open-fermented lager beer! Placed in barrels and cold-conditioned our cold box for three months. Crisp like a lager with an added layer of oak and a hint of wild funk to it! Drinkable with pleasant mild acidic quality, pineapple, Asian pear, saison. 5% ABV

Dwell (Dry-Hopped) - our open-fermented lager beer dry-hopped for the first time with Saaz. 5% ABV

Short Game - Helles Lager brewed in collaboration with Metzger Bar and Butchery. A lighter, more sessionable version of Long Game, a beer we brewed with Metzger back in December 2020. 6% ABV

Jackson Flavor - Mexican-style lager back for the first time in two years! This batch is great in our opinion. Nice n crispy with a great sweet corn flavor and floral hoppiness. 5.9% ABV

Cave - Pilsner brewed with the noble hop varieties of Hallertau, Tettnang, and Saaz. So you know it’s gonna be crispy, complex, naturally carbonated, and refreshing. 5% ABV

No More Flowers - Kölsch-inspired beer. Clean and crispy from 5 weeks of lagering with a distinctly soft and delicate ester profile balanced by a light German Tettnang hop addition. Floral, bready, and clean. 5.2% ABV

They - Step-mashed lager brewed with raw wheat, hopped with Perle and El Dorado. This has become one of our favorite lagers to drink in house. Crispy with lots of bold hop character. 5% ABV

Thorn - Lager with floor-malted barley, spelt, and a gentle hopping of Motueka. Crispy impressions of honey biscuit, mineral water, and freshly cut grass. 5% ABV

Vein - Pilsner that is step-mashed with floor-malted barley and hopped with Saaz and Tettnang. Notes of crispy water cracker, and thirst-quenching earthy hoppiness. 4.5% ABV

Schröderhaust - Bavarian-inspired Wheat Ale aka Weissbier. Extremely refreshing with gentle esters of banana and spice with the perfect touch of dryness and clove bitterness. 5.1% ABV

Anyone wondering about Dark Daze available, veil posted the following on IG earlier this week.

"Dark Daze beers will be available first come first served in person. Anything left over after the full weekend (depending on quantities) will be available for shipping. We will post if and when that happens."

Several posts from people asking if there will be online pre-sale then IP pickup or if it will be in person orders only to which Veil has not responded to any of those posts as they likely want to build the suspense. One person did say they sent a DM and the brewery responded that the decision has not been made yet. Their post reads like there will be no online pre-orders but if I had to guess they will ultimately decide to do online orders earlier in the week to allow time to build the order before Friday's release.

Fully Loaded Baked Potato (10%abv)
For this Freaky Friday we decided to brew a collaboration that we were not originally a part of. So Other Half set us up with all the fixin’s for Fully Loaded Baked Potato, an Imperial India Pale Ale brewed originally as a collaboration between OH, Monkish, and Trillium. Brewed with gobs of oats and wheat then hopped at a 3x quantity with Mosaic, Galaxy, Kohatu and Sultana hops. Super saturated citrus juice, cream, and tropical fruit.
- 1x case limit. $19/4pack+tax each

Big Royale (13%abv)
A brand new Imperial Stout brewed with Other Half NYC and aged in bourbon barrels for over 24 months. Super sappy dense flavors of dates, molten chocolate lava cake, Werther’s caramel hard candies, and decadence. 13% ABV.
