For those who are asking WHAT WILL EVER BE ENOUGH....
"Berliner added that plans to implement an employee profit-sharing model are being drafted and that leadership is “anxious to see it through as soon as possible.”
this would go a long way. (There's more, but this is key for me, especially if Jean and Julie aren't fully divesting.)

    1. That's really great to hear.

    2. Those questions about "what will be enough for those of you with pitchforks?" weren't sincere. They were, in retrospect, roundabout ways of not-so-subtly saying "I'm not as upset about this as you all are, and I don't think you should be" while being afraid to say so more explicitly.

What cover, a white guy holding a beer?

I would step away if I was Jean, this whole thing is extremely petty. It's a bunch of infighting about who gets what shifts and when and where rules are enforced. I mean it's just what happens when you run a business and hire a lot of different people.

I don't mean literally the cover photo. And nothing to do with being white. Was meaning the whole "don't judge a book by its cover" thing. Just saying he looks like a douche, but obviously easy to say with hindsight.

No, it sounds like a lot more than that. See this is where unconscious bias and racism and sexism comes in. Sure, it's just shift schedules, or one person getting fired while another person isn't for identical behavior. But somehow, magically, it serves white males. How convenient!
Literally this has been the discussion on these boards, so I'm not sure what more I can say to make this point that plenty of others haven't already.

Honestly, it's not worth engaging guys. I like to assume the best of others on the internet typically, but he's already told us a lot about himself via his comments on the last page. If someone isn't going to engage with you in good faith, there's no point and it's possible to do more ill than good imo.

Personally plan to support Tired Hands as much as usual, if not more, with this news coming out about them advancing towards an employee profit-sharing model into the business.

Where did they state they were moving towards profit sharing?

While I'm still not convinced Jean isn't pulling some of the strings, I think it's potentially encouraging that Robert Berliner seems to be in a pretty influential position. I've met him a couple times and he seems like good people. Then again, Jean seemed pretty cool the couple times I talked to him as well (though I'm a white male so maybe that's the only reason he was cool to me).

Well, judging by their latest post, beer descriptions are going to now actually describe the beer, instead of being painfully pretentious nonsense written by some choad.

Jean being there didn't prevent them from duffing some batches of Alien Church, so maybe with better people in charge things will improve.

This is fucking gross. It blows my mind that people think it's OK to treat other people this way.

I think what bothers me the most about this is I feel like a dupe. All the crap about caring about the community and shit they used to build a positive image was just a complete lie. Cynical lies just told for the sake of the bottom line, all the while treating people like garbage.

That's not to say my own feelings about being lied to are a bigger deal than people who have suffered abuse at Tired Hands, but we like to think our generation of business owners are going to improve, be more ethical, be more caring and empathetic. They, of course, try to put that image out into the world. Finding out it was all bullshit just makes me realize nope, the new crop of business-owning shitheads is just as shitty as the old one.

In 2019, Shawn Hill's lawsuit against Tired Hands claimed that the buyout of his 0.5% stake for $7500 (which would mean an overall company value of $1.5 million) was far below market value.

TH used to indicate how many cases of each canned beer was being produced, it was easy to do the simple math that they were grossing over $100k a week just in can sales, not counting any draft beer, bottles, food, merch, etc. All signs pointed to a lot of money being made.
