Why is everybody so eager to trade this bottle?

Since i live in stl im most likely going to be able to drink it easily. So trying to get something in return that would be harder to obtain

Yeah, I think it’s more the effect of knowing that the cellar was (is shortly) re-opening, so more locals could try on-site, versus when everything was locked down & the bottle was the only way to go. That being said, not like these bottles being given away :joy::rofl:

Yeah I didn't plan on trading my MJK, but looks like I'll get to try it soon. So I'll probably be offering it up for the moon shortly

The value appears to be falling quick on the FB groups…

Are you saying the value is dropping because razzles or duck races are not filling? Or are you saying that because of congruent beer trades?

Full disclosure I have an open trade offering this beer on this site, but to your point about Facebook I don’t see more than 1 open beer trade in the last 24-hours asking for Db assassin + assassin (which is a biiig ask) for TWCP continuance. Otherwise they are all people with TWCP asking for whiskey or quotes for sales/razzles. I see 4-5 closed beer trades, one of which was mine at a far different value than razzles or whiskey. If there are beer trades suggesting something different I would like to know so I can offer a fair deal here, however, let us know if you are referencing whiskey stuff or razzles. Thanks!

The fluctuations occurring on FB aren’t anything new for the majority of SP stouts/barleywine. You have the initial FOMO surge, then gradual lowering of perceived value. That being said, the “low” end of this won’t be very low, short of the Untappd ratings tanking, which is VERY unlikely w/ this being MJK. The exact same fluctuation could be said of Art. At end of day, the demand for this, like many SP stouts/barleywines, will always remain high, which will sustain its value.

I'm not saying it will be low at all...just saying there is a post about to close for 450...that's a far cry from where this started

I have seen several post and close for BBT & Assassin '21, no one is getting a DB Assassin 1:1 for this anymore, let alone with a plus...I'm saying in the groups that I'm in on FB the people with bottles who were offering this up are now looking for less in return...and a sale post is about to close for 450...

Thanks for the input @cbusnoles. BBT + Assassin is where I am seeing this bottle as well. As far as sales, I think most of us on BA acknowledge that sales =/= trade value. People selling beer to pay rent or get their fender repaired are generally not setting the beer trade value market, except for those that buy/sell beer. For the rest of us who do this as a hobby, I imagine we use those numbers as a "rough" guide, but totally different ballgame to have $450 in hand after selling an $80 beer versus trading it for $50-150 retail in other beers that have roughly the same trade value. Cheers!
