Also, the view I googled from Young Lion and the pretzel is worth stopping there alone -I saw that the brewery rating wasn't super high, but the experience seems worth it (and I'm a sucker for a pretzel).

Canandaigua is literally my favorite place on Earth so I'm always happy to help others discover it.

One final rec -- if you're swinging by Fifth Frame (and I do recommend that, they're great), hit Strangebird on your way towards Canandaigua. It's only a mile away, right off the loop, and they've got a huge amount of options. I haven't had their beer yet unfortunately but based on pedigree of everyone involved I feel confident in recommending you to check it out.

Any other questions come up don't hesitate to reach out.

I’ll plug Strangebird too just because one of the owners is a dear college friend going on 20+ years. Her husband and other brewer definitely have a legit pedigree, so I look forward to checking them out.

You guys are great - thank you. IGYP - I've actually been there before - just been a long long time - maybe 5 years - went up for wine tasting. Stayed there. It was amazing then, so I'm expecting nothing less this time.

And I'll add Strangebird to the list. At a certain point, you know how it goes, you can only drink so much with driving and logistics, but I love putting an itinerary together for shit like this.

I'm sure i'll have more questions, i have a few months before I come up that way. But appreciate everything for now.

Heading upstate for the weekend in a few weeks. Gonna be about an hour alway from Fiden’s and thinking about hitting up the Saturday AM release. Wondering what the vibe is like there these days? How early do you have to be “lined up” to get the beer? I see Fidens also does Crowlers. Is that also something that can be purchased on Release Days?

I made my first trip to Fidens yesterday morning. Got there at 8:20 and there was one car in front of me. Got 4 of each. From what i understand a lot depends on what is being released that week so there is no way of really knowing until a day or two in advance. But from my minimal experience, get there shortly after 8:00 and the line of cars should be gone and you can still get 4 of whatever they have available.

I was there two weeks ago, and got there at 7am to be safe - that line went far past 8am (as in it was still there when i got my beer at 7:40 or so) - totally depnds on the release. I think you're safe at 8am though. minimal wait time and you'll get beer.

As others have said, depends on the release. Like this past week was all beers they've dropped a few times before so from what I saw it was a very chill release and for days like that anytime between 730-9 you'll get beer easily.

If it's something new or a hyped collab that's a very different story -- you'd wanna be there by 7 and expect to wait in line. You can roll the dice and go like 8-9 but they've sold out by then a couple times so I wouldn't risk it.

They do do crowlers randomly, usually one of the IPAs conditioned on a fruit, but they're never announced.
