Heading to the brewpub this weekend. Are they able to sell cases to go on Sunday? Not sure of the liquor laws there, we can't buy beer in Minnesota on sunday

Yes. Indiana changed the law to permit carry out on Sunday, so you can buy Floyds at the brewpub (but nowhere else in Indiana - liquor stores are closed). I think they may have reduced limits, but you can still get a couple of cases.

Fuck yes! The beer, food, staff, atmosphere, etc is all fantastic. I've been there twice this year and have been in heaven each time. I went on a Thursday a couple of weeks ago at about 7pm-ish and there was no line or wait. It wasn't overly busy - looked like a typical place on any given day. The bloodlust burger is awesome.

How busy is it typically on a Sunday?

Heading out there next week, probably Monday or Tuesday, on the way to Michigan from Wisconsin. Probably be stopping there around the lunch hour- hopefully there isn't much of a crowd then.

I guess I'll have to content myself with one ZD over lunch since it's just me driving the full 7 hours  But hoping to take home 2 cases of it.

Their fish fry is damn tasty. Plus there's malt vinegar.

Is there anything I need to know before I head over there next week? Some reviews recommend buying the beer to go before you sit down for a drink. And, is there a bar area if I just want to skip the food but to get a pint or two in?

Yeah there is a bar, you can have food at the bar too, recommended as their food is really good. I usually buy beer to go whenever there is no line, pre/post food.

Try the ground spareribs burger! Just amazing! Also on Tuesdays you might get lucky with a limited bottle release. Going for lunch you will have no problem getting a seat and a 99% chance to walk out with two cases of dust.

Been there twice and it was worth the 2 1/2 hour drive each time if that tells you anything... Now that I JUST finished my last ZD in the house, I may have to go again...

Bringing a gift of beer is also a nice gesture too. Shared some with the bar as well as kitchen staff and you might get some extra love.

Three Floyds is Three Floyds: some of the best beers in the world.

If you're frustrated with the lines, hype, etc., consider crossing the Illinois border to Flossmoor Station. A beautiful, rehabilitated train station with excellent beer (a couple of GABF medals) and good food.
