I grabbed cans from D96 right before they sold out and had a victory buffalo salad with a friend that I haven't seen in 6 months. It was a good day.

I'm getting the Fiden's version of the collab later this week, and am looking forward to doing a side by side on Easter.

$10 a 4 pk, cashmere citra and mosaic hopped NE IPA. 6.4% I bet these are going to disappear before Monday.

Hey guys, weird question - can anyone recommend some nearby parks or something that a 2 yr old would enjoy? I'm coming up from PA for the first time on Sunday and was hoping there would be some close spots the wife and kid could spend some time at while I enjoy navigating the taplist.

Demarest Park has some decent hiking for the middle of the suburbs. Germonds Park is more kid friendly. They have a public pool, mini golf, and a playground.

Just a word of warning that Clarkstown parks are only open to Clarkstown residents. This has never been an issue for me and I've never gotten stopped by a park employee, but I also have NY plates.

The mini golf is open to non-residents FYI.

There may not be a ton of options if you're looking to keep within 5-10 minutes of the brewery. That said, if your 2 year old likes cheeseburgers and/or milkshakes, you may be able to combine efforts.

Oh, she does, and she'll be eating at d96 as well, but we were also looking for options for when she wants to run around and play for a bit.

Thanks for the recommendations! Also, what a bizarre rule that is! Are employees usually checking plates? I live in PA and never encountered that rule before.

sneaking suspicion the rules are designed to keep people from the nearby town of Monsey out of the parks.

Any recommendations about Harriman State Park? It seems to be not that far away and has a lot to offer.

Harriman is a great spot for hiking. Huge too. It's about 20 min north of District.

I'm pretty sure @Pork-Roll hit the nail on the head. I checked with a friend that still lives in the area and he said they have workers at the entrances checking ids. Crazy stuff.

You might want to check out Rockland Lake in that case.

Bear mountain can be crowded on weekends but is still a nice spot and not too far. 7 lakes is a bit farther but a great spot.

I would second Rockland Lake. The pool might not be open this early in the season (or due to staffing, but I wouldn't know) but there's nice fields and a circuit around the Lake. Industrial Arts is not a far trip up 9w if you want to add that to your destination list too. Probably 15-20 minutes away.

For relatively easy hiking, what is the place to park? I cannot seem to find where exactly should I go.

Lots of nice areas to hang out. My friends and I “worked” there during our teen years. Ah, good times.

It's hard to tell from Google maps where exactly to go. Any specific recommendations would be highly appreciated.

Well, I worked there in the early 90s, but I’m pretty sure there hasn’t been many changes. I would check this link because there are lots of ways in and out and areas to hang out.
