8 Crazy Nights BIF: Hints & Hauls

Also heading out to a VE event, but opened up tonights bottle: Weyerbacher Riserva 2009! Very cool. Thanks Nate! Not photo tonight, sorry.

 

5th night, 4th bottle...



Founders IS, another perma-Want! Cracked it immediately upon opening.

Definitely made it easy on me with your perma-wants. The remaining bottles are not on that list, so prepare to be something. 2 are wants and one is a very polorizing beer that I happen to really like.

 

Day 1: DFH 90 Min IPA growler

Day 3: New Glarus Raspberry Tart
Day 4: Troegs Mad Elf
Day 5: Alesmith Speedway Stout (One of my faves that is not distributed to MI)

 

Opened up bottle number four to find...Midnight Sun TREAT! This is a long time want that I have never had the opportunity to try. Really excited about this one!

 

Dubinsky, I know you already have the next two bottles after seeing the picture you took . Hopefully the last two bottles are bottles you haven't tried before. I saved the best bottle for last, so hopefully it's a really good surprise. It's cork and cage, so it can't be bad, right?

 

For Bottle 5 I received... Hill Farmstead Vera Mae! Thanks Mista - another want hit! I look forward to cracking this soon. Loving this BIF

No worries at all. These are all bottle i want, and in fact they were all part of a trade that just got completed. Like you said, i would probably have sat on them for a while and now i can drink one now and save one for later.

Crooked Stave Surette Reserva 750ml! Wow - I'm stoked about this beer. Yet another small young Colorado brewery that I've been wanting to try, and a brett-y saison is one of my favorite styles. Had this one checked off as a 'want' - well done boatshoes. Loving this haul so far...

Hey folks, sorry I've been MIA. Busy week, but I'll update with a final photo with all the beers and the menorah on the last day for sure. In the meantime, I opened up a Seizon Bretta (want!) yesterday and a Westy 8 today (my favorite of the line!). Thanks Matt, looking forward to the rest!

 

Today's Beer is Struise Tsjeeses Reserva (Porto Barrel Aged) - De Struise Brouwers 2011 i believe. Never had this before. Looking forward to trying it.

So after 17 hours and about 1200 miles today I drug my tired ass home, but you know I had to dig into my night 5 present. Yep you guessed it, another want....Surly 5! Thanks for continuing the awesomeness. Picture of the lineup tomorrow.

 

Like most Struise beers, let those bad boys warm up a bit to get all the wonderful complexity out of them. I'm a huge port barrel fan, but surprisingly preferred the bourbon version on this. Both very interesting though - enjoy!

 

Luckily not driving!

 

Should be the last of the listed wants, but the best is yet to come!

Imperial Stout Trooper - Want!!! Very nice...had a taste of this once a couple years back and have been waiting a long time to revisit!
