Will be doing a beach trip with the extended in-law family in a few weeks and looking to stock up for the trip on the way up

Coming from Central MD, up 95, across DE Mem Bridge then across 40 or 49 to the beach. Any recommended shops along the way?

I know, and really like, State Line, but since they're in MD as well, distribution there is pretty similar to home. Anything good shops in DE or Southern NJ where I could find good brews not available at home?

    Clayton liquors
    369 N Delsea Dr, Clayton, NJ 08312

    If you're taking 40.

They get everything southern NJ gets.
Magnify, Kane, Cape May, Carton, other half drops, etc.

I make the trip all of the time, several good choices. If you take route 49 stop at Glasstown Brewery at the Millville Airport. Avoid the construction at Delaware Memorial Bridge, stay on 495 and take 322 over Commadore Barry Bridge and stop at Bonesaw brewery at 322 and Route 55.. Be sure and stop at our favorite brewery Slack Tide on Route 83, right off Route 9. Best bottle shops are Circle Liquors in Somers Point, Gleasons at SEa Isle Blvd and Route 9, and Joe Canals in Rio Grande.

I would hit up Joe Canals then once in Cape May stop at Colliers. Throw in visits to Gusto and Cape May Brewing and you’ve got yourself a full fridge.

Clayton liquors like people said above. Circle liquors in somers point is great too but might be out of the way depending on which beach you are going to.

    for breweries I would hit:
    The seed
    Gusto
    Ludlam island

that’s my preference order. Good luck!

Going to Wildwood this summer and intend to make a small detour to Atlantic City to check out The Seed.

have NJ beer/brewery laws changed? I was at one over 5 years ago and they weren’t able to serve food and I think by law you were required to watch a video prior to drinking.

I was hoping to get a sandwich from Whitehouse Subs and eat it while having a couple of beers at The Seed.

looks like you found the answer. NJ laws are still a little behind. Tours are still required and no food sold by the brewery but most (including the seed) allows food in the tasting room.

Tony baloneys is great. Really good and unique pizzas and sandwiches

I’ve never had to do a tour at a NJ brewery.

yeah. Some have creative ways around it or don’t do it. But they are still required.

Thanks all for the advice. Made a stop at Clayton Liquors; great spot.

Loaded up on some Magnify, Icarus, Toppling Goliath (which we still don't get in MD), and others.
