What beer are you drinking now? #3166

Worked the weekend so was kind of lame for the wheat beer tasting.
Small share today... however with some heavy hitters.

Middle: Electric Roads by Private Press- DB Barleywine. Amazing.
Right: GI BCBS Rare ‘15. Amazing.
Left: Voodoo vanilla aphotic... pretty good. 4.25. I definitely won’t be actively searching out voodoo beer from now on. (The previous voodoo I had was the teal wax black magic, which was way worse)

Then got home and got a hop fix with a classic that needs no introduction...

 

Canned on 4/06/21 and tasting delicious, with no visible floaties in sight!

Got home and the Mrs decided I should grill some of the hot dogs we had leftover from the Father’s Day cookout. Like I’m going to complain about grilling.

 

Stash IPA from Independence Brewing is my favorite WC IPA going for now. I've been able to get it reasonably fresh (1 month old) here. Crisp, bitter, pine resin, grassy and some citrus.

Had one of these, the latest & greatest from Beer Tree. Really hit the spot after a long hot day in the landscape mines. Head & shoulders above their 1st attempt at a pils, Crisp Trees, though that wasn't bad by any means.
Reminded of something............oh yeah.....Rothaus Pils, so decided to try em together, with the one RP left in the fridge.
Btw, what happened to the Side By Side thread? Is that gone? Or I just didn't get the name exactly correct?

Short version : Rothaus wins on looks , & gets a slight edge on the Noble hop spiciness, but Hallo! Pils wins the overall by a whisker , i.e. drinkability , probably due to feel & freshness. There was a slight skunkiness, at first, with the Rothaus , that I never noticed before. It mostly goes away as it warms, but it is there. All-in-all, you win with either, & I think I won 2X, by having both.

 

EFF ME. POMONA.... this is why I hate that 15 minute edit limit. Ugh. Stupid autocorrect.

Surly Mapping the Multi Verse hazy IPA.... sometimes pouring beer from a can into a glass kicks my ass. This is really good and went great with Shrimp Alfredo for dinner.

 

I was feeling the need for a bitter stout.
This delight hits the spot tonight.

Hello Gents!

Tonight's aperitif is a new beer for me Great Divide- Denver Pale Ale. Just finished the review and it scored smack dab in the middle of the Good range.


And a side note about a new beer I tried last night - Panther Cub. After seeing this frequently for several months, it was in stock and ready for me to try. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. Wowser, that is great beer.
