Saw that the brewery withdrew its ABC license for the Arts District location, which is a damn shame but does make sense given the last 15 or so months. Anyways, Mumford thread, I guess? Has anyone had the chance to try the smoothie-style hard seltzer they concocted? It just seems like the kind of drink that will bring nothing but sadness and regret.
They had plans to open up in the Arts District on Third Street and even had a coming soon sign posted up there but apparently that's no longer the case. I was in the Arts District the other day and noticed the Mumford signage is gone and decided to check the ABC website and saw the brewery withdrew the license for it.
Man that would have been a prime location for them, too. Last time I was at Hauser and Wirth, I saw the Mumford sign. While I'm not a huge fan of them, I'd still go there over Arts District Brewing
I go to Mumford once every several months, that's unfortunate about the Arts District but yes, not surprising. They also had a sign on the ground floor of a Glendale condo building pre-COVID so maybe that's not happening as well. They had some so-so beers last summer/fall but have gone back to their previous quality the last couple times I've been there. They're not on the level of Highland Park + Homage but nice you can do a brewery crawl with them + Mumford now Mumford does a good job with flavored IPA's, thinking of the Horchata IPA a few months ago, so maybe there's some hope for the smoothie hard seltzer
If anything I'd probably go back to visiting if they moved to whatever the new location was supposed to be and shut down the original spot. Having to step over a bunch of bodies to get to Mumford isn't exactly the most thrilling atmosphere.
Might visit them today. Haven't been in a while but they were apart of my Highland Park, Modern Times, Mumford downtown trifecta
