I only got the one can. I also tried a Haze that was a few days newer (4/23 I think?) and it was only slightly better.

Emperor Julius is off the order page. Did it really sell out within an hour at 2pp?

You realize that this is impossible, right?

I can't understand why they struggle at open adding items. Why don't they do this a half hour before going live? It's painful to watch items appear, disappear and then reappear. Emperor most likely disappeared today as it went live with no limits so they must have pulled it to add limit of 2 cans (1 order)

I believe that didn't change. The 1 pp is a two pack.

Still not understanding peanut butter spreading demand they can’t meet at one location into two other locations.

Traditionally the things they do that make no sense work wonders for them though.

I don't think the pressure will be off Charlton until Deerfield is fully operational. Then we should see things level off a little into a more enjoyable weekend experience.

Just playing Devil's Advocate here, but do you know how the someone who gave it to you treated the cans? Kept cold the whole time, etc? If it wasn't from the brewery to your hands, can you be sure?

The only thing I'm not sure of is if he kept them in a cooler for the 5 hour drive home when he first got them. My guess would be no, but I've done that myself in the past from many breweries including Tree House and it was fine.

Same - I've even kept them overnight when it's cold enough to leave them in the car - I don't think that would have much of an impact - any of these breweries shipping beer now, that beer isn't being kept cold for a day or two at a time and the quality is still there.

Never had a bad Sierra Nevada, New England BC, Budweiser, jack abbey, von trap, east rock, etc.

There was a whole conversation about bad Von Trapp cans on here recently which surprised me since I’ve never experienced it either.

So you've never had Bourbon County 2015 then?

I know you said Budweiser as in Bud Heavy itself, but trust me, there's been bad bottles out there, just like there's random bags of Lays with nothing in them, or worse: something you don't want in them. The production is so huge the likelihood of you, a random individual on BA, experiencing this is very low.

And I can't tell you how many times I've seen 6 month or older Sierra Nevada products in stores. Sure, I'm aware their shelf stability is excellent, but that doesn't mean I want cellared or vintage SNPA.

I don’t like to chime in on this stuff, but the “batch variation” or “bad can” shit drives me crazy.

A few months back, I posted about an Oxbow Surf Casting being heavy on the lime (or something to that effect). I think we often forget that our senses are heightened or muted due to many circumstances. Maybe the pollen was high enough to screw things up for me, maybe it was what I ate or drank beforehand, maybe it was my mood or the temperature of the beer. There is a lot that goes into how we perceive the taste (or don’t taste) something. My next many cans of Surf Casting were great, which leads me not to believe I got a bad can, but that something was messing with my senses. I very rarely think “bad batch” it the culprit.

And if it is, and it happens as often as it seems here … well, you finish that sentence.
