I wasn’t saying those are world class breweries I was just saying that I’ve never had off cans from them like I have from treehouse Or other breweries.

I wasn’t comparing then to Budweiser I was just naming a few breweries that I’ve never had a poorly made beer from. I just expect a brewery that charges four dollars a can and only sells out of there on locations deliver 99% of the time. I don’t think they deliver that frequently. I used to think they were an incredible brewery before multiple expansions.

I think you meant 2016. I say this in that I had the 2015 offering and to this day that year really stood out to me. Anyway, your production run snafus comment is on point.

2015 was definitely the off year. Multiple offerings were bad. Not all of the BCBS was bad from that year though so you might have gotten a good one.

Amen. I'll add one note: I don't think I've ever gotten a "bad can" from Tree House. I've seen exactly one online reviewer open a bottle of Green that was clearly oxidized. That's a different story than what we hear reported here. Most just don't like the beer in the can.

I do think there is something to these overhopped beers having consistency issues can to can. I'm not a brewer so can't really say, but I've heard it speculated at least that different portions of the tank have different flavor profiles. Add to that the sensitivity to aging and handling and it's just really a crapshoot.

I am not 100% over the NEIPA game, because when they hit right it's really glorious, but man I really can't justify the time and cash outlay for something like Tree House anymore. This last batch I got, I will say they are all 100% on point in terms of mouthfeel, head retention, appearance, etc. They're a clear mark above most shelfies in that regard. But taste wise, I can't say the same anymore.

I'm also a little jaded by Tree House and their ever expanding offerings. Why does "Juli-ish" pale ale need to exist? You already have 2-3 killer pale ales in your regular rotation. How different can it be from Lights On?

I'm further jaded by things like spirits and coffee slush puppies on the menu. Probably my own hang up. Craft beer has always been on the edge of celebrated alcoholism, but it's kind of masks off when you're offering frozen drinks and such. I'm sorry but you can't wax eloquently about the labor of love that is your pina colada machine.

Is there actual chocolate in Double Shot stouts? I had the monochrome version yesterday and it was insanely (wonderfully) chocolate-y. Thanks in advance for any insights.

I believe it is just water, malts, hops, yeast, and coffee.

Has anyone tried Uber from Charlton to Boston lately? Is it possible? I'm thinking about the upcoming Tweedy event and figuring out a way to not have to drive

Haven't tried it specifically, but prices have been outlandish and rides scarce all over the country. A ride I used to get regularly in CT for $19 increased to $44 (15 miles). That's regular, not surge pricing. Here's an article about it:

Crazy. Haven't taken Uber is 18 months or so, was planning to start using it again but hadn't really paid much attention to the waits and times. @HighLowJack, might be cheaper to offer to buy a buddy half a case of TH to be your DD!

Nice throwback profile pic. An homage to one of the more memorable posters, for better or worse.

With the group merger I think people just needed it and a little history lesson.
