I'd definitely second the recommendations for Triple Crossing (Fulton has good food and outdoor space). I'd also agree with Veil for cans, and chill at Vasen.

Sapwood is going to have cans, but the space is uninspired. OH DC is worth going if it fits into your timing, but I will agree that it's going to be a timesuck just going there.

Sleeper picks close to 95: Diamondback in Baltimore and Red Dragon in Fredericksburg, VA make some good beers. Not quite the level of the others above, but if you need a stop in either place... they will do.

 

Drinking a June 9th Mylar Bags from DC, I’m really enjoying it. Has this great passionfruit/gummy peach ring/grapefruit thing going on, slight grassy/bitter note in the finish

One thing I noticed was no post on the DC account (that I could find) about Mylar, and the date is the same as the NY post. Did they brew a Centre batch, or was it just this one?

 

not sure, but the Mylar I had at the taproom last week was one of the best batches I’ve had of it in at least a year. It’s always been a favorite of mine and I get major fomo when I miss a good batch in cans

 

Latest batch of DDH Mosaic Dream — solid, no complaints.

 

I had both a pour in the taproom and got cans (same DC 6/9 batch), loving both. I know my buddy down in VA has said cans have popped up there of BK classics for sale without announcements, so maybe they are only posting on newly brewed beers?

 

A huge thank you to @algebeeric_topology! We’re going to miss you man! Definitely the lifeblood of the OH BA thread, and it’s thanks to you that many of us have been able to meet up in person, and gotten to know each other properly. I remember meeting Rob for the first time - I was not expecting Gregor Clegane! Math phd, new father, and someone with a clearly excellent moral compass. All the best mate!

 

Oh hell yeah.

DDH Solar Showers IPA (7.4%) w/ Sundew yeast. We have been experimenting with new yeast strains at our @otherhalfdominopark location and wanted to bring we liked into bigger production by giving it a try with our classic DDH Hop Showers recipe. Citra and Amarillo are still the main hops but this yeast gives more stone fruit character than our usual house yeast.

 

That seems to be the case. I think if they post it's only in IG stories.

Dino’s Eulogy is surprisingly quite good, the banana character is subtle, kinda comes across similar to the ester character you get in Hefeweizens but much more restrained.

 

Anyone able to report on Triple Mylar Daydream and Solar Showers?

 

I ordered the mixed case - I don’t know if the burbs have just dulled any semblance of a palate I once had, but this (6/24; BK) batch of small citra is really good, and I never really liked small citra despite my love of ACE.

Flip side is I was strong-armed into a strawberry vanilla “Berliner” thing.

Since nobody else has given feedback, it’s more NEIPA-y than normal Hop Showers but it’s really good.
