Exactly who tf wants to wait in line when you can buy in the calm environment of your home.

in all seriousness I hate lines and after doing one will never do another. But no matter what the release is people will complain either way. That’s the only guarantee.

For anyone who has ever been to a SP stout line release…they’re awesome. Turns into a big bottle share and reunion. Also in my experience everyone who is line by release gets a bottle. I doubt anyone who shows up for a line release would ever complain.

Not saying I have inside info because I don’t, but they could easily do this at the brewery before pickups start. I just don’t see this happening for a while.

Except for one magnum release like 4 years ago if you were in line at open you’re guaranteed a bottle. So I don’t see how people can complain, unless it’s just about the fact you can’t sit in your bathrobe at home and buy it.

Random 4 year example aside. You know as well as I do.....people find a way to complain.

Just my opinion but I feel like anything that isn’t a super small batch release (400 bottles or less) should stick to online sales indefinitely. It just works so well. Generally if you want a bottle that’s gone on sale online, you can get it if you put in enough effort to do so. Then just go pick it up but make the time frame shorter so they don’t have to save a ton of room in the brewery to store people’s bottles. They don’t even have to keep doing proxies

trying to buy bottles to go at the brewery AND drink on site has been A huge pain for me in the past, if you’re not at the very front of the line, there’s no where comfortable to drink in the brewery. Having to go bottles online instead of huge lines eliminates that.

The last time I waited in a huge line was for one of the tete releases. I got falsely accused of cutting in line and that pretty much ruined it for me, haven’t been to one since then. Just way too much effort and takes way too much time.

I’m sure there’s a ton of holes in my thought process. Just my opinion.

It's pretty hard to get falsely accused of line cutting at a SP release.

not true. i got accused by some dickhead of cutting at the Ambient / MV release when in reality when i went to buy my bottles i asked Cory if we could loop through again (i was pretty close to the front of the line) and he said “sure, you can try”

dude lost it on me, accused me of cutting in front of him when all i did was follow the people in front of me (who were also looping through) down to the diner and re-lined. at least 6 people in front of me had been in front of me all morning waiting and sharing in line.

the irony is that this douche admitted to being a member a little later on. he was half ass apologizing for losing it on me and was like “i’m guaranteed one anyway i just thought you were cutting me..” so, it does happen. most of the time, everyone in the parking lot and in line is cool as hell. have met some great people there.

Fingers crossed for some À la Table packages. That was the perfect beer when it was 100+ a few weeks ago.
