Also just make sure you shake the cans before opening.

I roll them. PTSD from the ol’ Grimm days.

I love to shake and invert, but with a nice 25-30 rest before opening.

Hell yeah burrow! Love me some mosaic. Looks like one of their highest rated beers. Was hoping for another lager but the Kolsch will do just fine. Gonna have to double down on cottage .

I am as serious as the day is long. Drinking a Viridecense right now with a good shake and rest. Gets anything that might have settled up and moving!

Nice! Good to know. Depends on the brewery I guess. Some leave too much gunk and I prefer to decant.

When Grimm first starting canning their (D)IPAs it was recommended by the brewery to roll the can back and forth a few times and it’s just become a force of habit at this point for me.

I'm headed down to Fox Farm next Wednesday (for those of you who know what I do, you may guess why). It's about a two hour trip, but I was considering bringing the family to play around for the afternoon while I work.

I drove by the Dino World (or whatever it's called) last time I was in town. I also went to a really nice ice cream spot nearby the brewery. Is there any other place at which I can feel confident my wife and kiddos could occupy themselves for the afternoon? Or is it just worth keeping them home? What about dinner spots, should we chose that?

2 Brothers Pizza restaurant. Lots more than just pizza. Great tap list with at least 1 permanent line for FF.

@mrmattosgood Gillette Castle State Park is 12 miles from Fox Farm.

The Dinosaur Place is solid but expensive

If you decide on Route 2 to 84 rather than 395, I can offer more dinner options. Adds about 20 miles to your return trip.

Yo trying to narrow down my 2 cases to finalize my FF haul was the hardest my brain worked in awhile. Got 2-3 cans of each hoppy offering - got more if it was fresher. Went heavier on burst = 10 cans! As it just seems like the one. Also heavy on burrow with 5 cans since it’s super fresh even though DIPA is not my preference. 2 of each non-ipa offering except for extra of cottage. Went in early and got dwell and layers before it sold out. I’m pumped

Don’t sleep on Susurrus. B1 was my favorite Fox Farm beer of 2020 and probably my second favorite of all time behind BA Freckled Fields b2.

Different fruit this time but still excited.

Might be a little late, but this part of the state can be a bit sparse. I live in Colchester (town next to Salem). Gillette Castle State Park as mentioned, Devil's Hop Yard is a hiking spot if its not too hot out for you. Never been to the Dino Park, but it always seems super packed. You are about 20 mins away from Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos. Even if you don't gamble, Mohegan is quite the site to behold and there is plenty of food options.

Otherwise, more attractions are further down towards the coast in places like Old Saybrook, Mystic, New London...

If you have time for another brewery and head down that far (Waterford to be specific) Tox is a great place IMO.

Any place that lets you buy singles is a double edged sword if you're trying to stay under a certain budget or amount of cans. I actually missed out on Votive last year because I took too long to figure out my order and it sold out on the website. Using a website still beats going to Tree House and trying to order with a slip of paper and a pencil though (pre-pandemic ofc).

Right. Leaving with 2 cases worth spread across 18 different beers is a pretty awesome tho.
