The Paulaner is only year-round where distros keep it as such. It's available from the importer, but many areas can't sell an Oktoberfest out of season, so distros don't bother ordering it.

    Oh, and it's Wiesn.

Autocorrect recognizes Weizen on your system?

(Truth told, I think it does on mine when I'm in BA )

I usually start to get into Fall seasonals around Mid August and I look for Southern Tier's Harvest! I'll have a couple of those while I'm brewing my yearly Pumpkin Ale recipe. I did just see Founder's post on instagram about their Oktoberfest. I'm still enjoying summer shandy's and some heat while we have it here in CT.

No gusher? Any sourness? Always have trouble there with old Ayinger Okto.

I found Keg Grove Brewing's Harvest Corn Oktoberfest today at The Fresh Thyme Market in Bloomington Illinois. Picked it up. Fall beer is here lol.

Found 500ml cans of Paulaner Wiesn (BB 5/22) last week and bottles of Paulaner and Hacker Pschorr (BB 3/22) and Warsteiner Märzen (BB 5/22) today. I'll buy it all year if it's fairly fresh.

No sourness or gushing - I have never had those issues with German beers - a year old or otherwise - they are stored in a 55 degree cellar - beer tasted just fine!

Bring them on. Plenty of light beers that are good for Summer available year round. And Summer seasonal are my least favorite. I want some more oktoberfests, pumpkins, and browns.

Probably the saving grace right there.

I've bought a couple Ayinger Oktos "off season," at least a year old, and while they were in coolers I'm sure they didn't spend the whole year there.

I haven't seen any around here yet, but I am definitely looking forward to seeing some hit the shelves. Fall is my favorite season. I unfortunately missed out on most of the fall seasonals last year due to a long, drawn out bout with pneumonia that kept me from drinking for several months.

Most excited for Olde Mecklenburg's Mecktoberfest to come out, just a phenomenal beer

Cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and allspice. Lots and lots of spices!

(We don't need no stinkin' pumpkin!)

Here we go - same comments every year - so, how is using canned pumpkin puree to make a pumpkin beer (as many brewers do) different than using last year's dried or frozen hops in an IPA or Pale Ale or ? I never get this logic - or lack thereof.....
If brewers only used "freshly harvested" hops, IPA's would be a seasonal only available for a short time....oh wait, those are called "fresh hop" beers.
