Short fire tonight…I’m burning what’s left over from last night. I’ll likely turn in early as tomorrow is a travel day, and rain is forecast. Cheers!

I don't like seafood, but I have to say you did a fine job with that, and excellent presentation!

Only thing missing is a hippie chick . Seriously though, great job!

[IMG] Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

    1) Corona Lager (4.6%): A Mexican Lager that has smooth flavors of pale malts, and adjunct flavors.
    versus
    2) Trader Joe’s Lager (5.0%): A Mexican-style lager that has smooth flavors of pale malts and bread malts.

    3) Surly Hell Lager (5.0%): A German wheat beer from Minnesota that has flavors of lemonflower and wheat.
    versus
    4) Summit Dakota Soul (4.8%): This Czech Pilsner from Minnesota is brewed with North Dakota barley and has flavors of bitter flower, bread spice, and yeast.

    5) Bells Two Hearted Ale #1 (7.0%, 9 months old): A midwestern IPA from Michigan that has complex flavors of grapefruit, citrus, stonefruit, with a smooth caramel malt finish. At 9 months it drinks well with a more subdued hop flavor that leans more citrusy.
    versus
    6) Bells Two Hearted Ale #2 (7.0%, 3 months old): The 3 month old version has more complex stonefruit and malt flavors.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    1) Corona Lager:
This one has more authentic German malt flavors. Less corn and adjuncts.

    4) Summit Dakota Soul: Two very good beers here, but this one has more of a bitter and grassy bite to balance the malt body. Less fruity and flowery, but both are excellent.

    6) Bells Two Hearted Ale #2: Obviously a fresher beer and drinks better. Still this beer stands up months down the road and is one of the best all-around IPAs on the market.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you tried Dakota Soul or Surly Hell Lager and what did you think?
Have you tried slightly aging an IPA and seeing if you can tell the difference between the two? Which would be a good IPA to do next?

Taco Tuesday shot with a Dankful. I was thrilled to get this at Total Wine last Saturday thinking, "wow it's out again", no it's 5 months old.....whatever, the tequila erased the taste.
