I have exactly one regular trade partner, a Bottle Logic trading partner - Ryan, who I have been trading with since 2017. I’m sure he’ll be able to grab me a couple bottles and I also had someone reach out to offer their assistance, which was incredibly exciting. If this iteration is close to b1, you (I) can’t have too much of this beer. Thanks to @bottlelogiclindsay and the BL crew for making it again!

I've definitely been seeing their stouts more widely distributed lately. Blackbeard's had about 6 different ones when I went a couple weeks back and I see IG posts from other local bottle shops getting some in.

Is Degree of Motion the cookies and cream BA stout collab with Hidden Springs that was teased as a summer release on Instagram a couple months back? I don’t see any collab notes on the release itself or the bottles, but it seems hard to believe we will be seeing two cookies and cream BA stouts this summer.

Same. I've only had 3 from Bottle Logic and they were all WAY TOO SWEET. Mint Condition was bad, Pie vs Pie was bad and Scatter Signal( my first Stasis Project) was a DRAIN POUR. No joke. I don't understand what people see in their stouts. I wanted to like them cuz they're local , but the Scatter Signal was nothing like a mocha stout. It tasted like liquified Kraft Jet Puffed marshmallows ( which should be a sin to use) and off brand Chocolate syrup in a bottle.
Is something wrong with me? Only took two sips of it and i poured it down the drain. It was undrinkable to me

That’s disappointing. I got a ton of coffee flavor in mine with mild mellowing of the coffee from the marshmallow. Not sweet at all here

Sounds like you don’t like syrupy, sweet stouts. Lots of people do. That’s about the long and short of it.

Some of these sweet stouts from BL, MT, and some others probably just aren’t your thing. Fortunately you’ve got lots of other great options!

Yea the Modern Times Dank Dojo is less than a quarter mile from me and I have only been there twice because all their stouts are overpriced and always bad. About 8 dollars for 5 oz pours and they are always sugar nukes. Hard Pass

That being said i absolutely Love Traeblood, Double Stack and the recent Thursday from Cycle . It's just that MT and BL go wayy over the top on the thick syrup stuff, and I love sweets..i am married to a pastry chef. She almost didn't let me buy the Scatter Signal when I told her they used Jet Puffed

    Yes.

As someone who has put way too many adjuncted, barrel aged calories in their system, BL is one of the best out there, made all the more stark by their fading hype. Some of the places getting the most attention just don't hold up, especially when done side by side.

Maybe stay away from stouts with descriptions like Scatter Signal. If you don't like sweet beers, you would have been aptly warned if you had spent any amount of milliseconds reading the bottle's label.

But that they can add so much stuff to the beer while still pairing well with substantial barrel presence and not usually being overly gloppy and cloying is the most impressive part. And their non-adjuncted game remains stellar, with Arcane Rituals and DSN coming to mind.

Scatter Signal isn’t even as sweet as some of the other pastry stouts they’ve made lol. I will say that the general flavor profile has changed slightly over the years compared to like 2016 peak hype for them but not necessarily in a bad way (to me at least). Still am a loyal fan and buy their beers all the time.

The OG stuff seemed a bit more balanced to me but I ain’t mad about it.

You might like HPB stouts, while the descriptors seem like they'd be pastry they usually taste more like beer.

Really? This years Griffith and Reserve was too sweet compared to last years. It was still tasty don't get me wrong.

The last BA beer I can think of that tasted more balanced was that Rum BA stout with Three Chiefs. @Frosty11161

Oh they HPB Griffiths are good.

photo From this years Griffith release. The Fluffernutter was good. The MT collab ‍ was not my favoriteand both other Griffiths were great. They use my friend Gregs coffee beans who I've been buying from for about a decade.
I have a few of the Griffith bottles in my fridge as well.

I agree on the regular GJG being overly sweet and not as roasty as previous batches. But I feel like colonel went back towards the center of balance.

I miss the dark chocolate somewhat dry roasty GJG of first few batches. Maybe its a byproduct of them scaling it up?

Has anyone heard anything about this year's Fundamental Observation? It usually comes out around this time but I haven't seen a peep about it.

Sorry, they used up all of this year’s FO batch in the Fundamental Coordinates set. Maybe try again next year…

Since #StoutWeather is just beginning my guess is that FO should be up in about two weeks barring any major issues.

This version of Broken Blender seems a bit different than the draft only one when Astronautica Exotica was released. I absolutely loved THAT Broken Blender version. I even commented on Untappd that I would max out if they bottled it. One of the best beers I drank in 2019.
"This beer was aged in Caribbean Rum barrels and then in Coconut Rum barrels. The double-barreled liquid was then finished thorough 200lbs of coconut and 80 lbs of pineapple."
This new one doesn't sound like that.
