Have not tried it yet. Been too busy drinking hazebois. :stuck_out_tongue:

Looking forward to trying it though, and there have been some good and even very good pale lagers of that sort made locally in the past six or eight months. We’re spoiled!

Grabbed the last 2 4-packs of Schell's Union Lager at nearby place.

Fair State is bringing back Side Pull. Their pilsner collaboration with Bierstadt Lagerhaus out of Denver. It was a taproom only release last year. I'll be grabbing a few packs from the store really quick.

So these two gentlemen were the last brewmasters at Minnesota Brewing Company before it closed in, what, 2004? Do they have the recipe for Grain Belt Golden? Is that what Bad Weather secretly put out as "Schmidt's West 7th Lager?" So many questions.

Anyway. The 12-packs of Crankin' Foamers are going down really smooth this summer. It's pretty much replaced Leinenkugel's Original as my "house beer." Hopefully it sticks around as a Fair State regular.

Really looking forward to the Side Pull. They also have a hoppy pilsner collab with Heater Allen coming in August, but it's taproom only.

Blackstack was able to squeeze in a kolsch (in cans) between all the TIPA's they been making lately.

    I'll grab some this weekend.

Drinking the Fair State Side Pull now. It is pretty good but didn't knock my socks off. Picked up the Blackstack Kolsch which I will have sometime this weekend.

I'm drink'n a crowler of Bad Weather Schmidt's West 7th lager right now. It tastes good in this hot weather. The pour I had last night at the tap room seemed better.

Even Less Hype at Fair State is REALLY good, I'm not usually a fan of dark lagers but it was great stuff, I need to upload my review this weekend.

Reminding myself a kolsch is not a lager.

JUST learned that many "traditional" German styles are NOT lagers.

Damn, I've got a lot to learn...

    Well, just for fun.

Kolsch can be included in this thread.

I was not trying to be pedantic as I should of quoted my own post. Just had the Blackstack Kolsch and it is alright. It is clean and mild I will give it that.

I love it. The fact that a 4-pack of cans costs less than a crowler of it is something I really don't like.

Agree, crowler prices aren't ever good when calculating the price per ounce. At least this release is being put into 4 packs. From my experience, Fair State beers hold up really well in 4 packs (and crowlers, for that matter). FS Pils is one of the few beers that I don't even bother checking the canning date when buying a 4 pack.

Looks like Bad Weather's Helles is hittin' distro soon. One of my go-tos from last summer.

Looks like Receptional (German Festbier) from Utepils is hitting retail soon. I remember this one from last year and it was pretty dang good. Looking forward to picking some up.
