Weihenstephaner Shortage?

looks like business as usual at the store i go to for german imports. i took a pic but when i use the image feature here i just get

Their helles and hefe have been increasingly difficult to find in Dallas-Fort Worth at the larger stores (Total Wine, Spec's, etc.) as well as most of their other offerings. The only ones I'm finding that aren't from last year oddly enough are Vitus.

 

I just returned from a trip to my local Total Wine and the 8 or so Weihenstephaner choices I normally see are all there. I actually made the trip to pick up the first fest beer that dropped in the area (Benediktiner Festbier) but I did pick up a 4 pack cans of Hefe as it's too good to resist.

 

Still able to get bottles of Hefe and Original in my area east of Pittburgh.

I don't know if there is a way to set up Twitter as a 3rd party host. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

You can paste the image link from twitter (right click the image for link) but I think they expire after a certain time. I know facebook image links expire. A dedicated hosting site like @Bitterbill suggested is a better option. Imgur is the site I use. There are a few out there which are used on BA. Your store is definitely well stocked on Weihenstephaner!

 

One of the best times in my beer life was when our Old Chicago had 3 on draught and 2 more in bottles.

To tell the truth, I'm not sure I've ever seen Weihenstephaner on tap outside Bavaria. Shame.

Yes, anything imported is going to be rough at the moment. I wouldn't doubt if increased shipping costs have made it temporarily unprofitable to ship Weihenstephaner.

 

Feeling a great sense of relief right now. I was worried this thread was gonna be some actual news item about this year’s Festbier.

 

Still haven’t seen the Weihenstephaner cans anywhere in mid-Michigan.

 

Will those beers be in cans?

I saw and drank an Original on tap at a local WFs. It certainly was tasty. I stopped going there a few years back but that was the only import I can remember being there.

 

I'm pretty sure this place gets it on tap from time to time...The Traunstein and Sammy were fantastic.
