I will second that and add the Bluejacket is nearby and also has decent food and beer. Walter's has good bar food and a wall of pour your own taps that sometimes had good options pre-covid. Atlas also is down there now, but I haven't been.

Overall, the good restaurants with good taplists have really dwindled over the past few years. Pizza Paradiso in Dupont Circle is probably still a solid option. I'm now realizing how much I haven't been drinking anywhere other than at home or breweries for the past 16 months.

These aren't in Cleveland Park but a few of my favorites that I go to a lot:

El Sol on 11th St NW for Mexican ($$)
Cafe Berlin in Capitol Hill for German beer and food ($$)
Taberna del Alabardero in downtown for Spanish ($$$)
Agora on 17th St NW for Mediterranean ($$)

I don't think Churchkey is back open yet, but their other space called Shelter has a killer tap list and a few different food vendors inside. Highly recommended. It's on the opposite side of town than Cleveland Park but probably only a 20 min drive.

Hah, just wrote/posted about Shelter on IG. Figured it might be a bit far considering it's on the opposite end of town but definitely a great spot. It was nice to be able to order food from all of the vendors as well as beer all at once. Shelter is inside The Roost which is NRG's food hall, @Providence.

I’m sure we’ll be moving all about while there, so these tips are helpful.

The Roost is really exceptional. The food options are all uniformly strong and the beer list, while shorter than Churchkey, is just as tight/high quality.

Plus, unlike Churchkey, it has the advantage of actually being open right now

And with outdoor space, which may or may not be a plus in the humid DC heat.

Haven’t been to the brewery, but recently picked up cans of Spinach and Tons of Hundreds from my local beer store. Both were good and brewed in DC.

We were there about a month ago. The space they have is great but I continue to be underwhelmed by their beers: mediocre IPAs and syrupy sweet stouts, though I do have to say the lager they brewed with Rothaus was pretty good. I just think there are so many better local options that it's not worth going there.

I've not been to their space, but I've had a number of the DC IPA's. A couple were underwhelming, but a lot of them have been really good. I had DDH Mylar Bags on tap recently and it was excellent. ymmv

I'll be traveling to the Eastern Shore next week with work and spending the night in Cambridge....can anyone provide insight on RAR and Burley Oak. Do both spots have outdoor seating and Cans/Bottles to go? Hoping to bring some beers home. If not, any solid bottle shops in Cambridge?

    Thanks in advance!

Burley oak has outdoor seating and lots of cans to go. Not sure if their attached taco place is back open yet but it should say on their website.

Hey guys! I just signed up and honestly not sure how I missed this site! Born and raised in the DMV area and just loving the craft beer scene we have. My styles are more of the Lagers/Pilsners and you guys have pretty much mentioned some of my favorites. I was able to try my first local Festbier of the year yesterday at Adroit Theory. Normally they do not have a lot of beers for my style but right now they do. I highly suggest trying it out if you like a higher ABV style that is not super malty. Anyhow Glad I signed up and looking out for all types of suggestions in our area!

Does it feel any different now that we are in the US-South regional forum? Not sure what we may have in common with Little Rock, which is about 3 times further away than Boston, but maybe we will learn something. Just seems refreshing that every other post is not about Hill Farmstead or Tree House.

Did DC just get dragged into the South? Oof.

I'm from the South (TN) and love Tree House and Hill Farmstead....they're now off limits?!

But in all seriousness, I personally feel that DC & Maryland should be with the Northeast or wherever PA has been placed. The whole area to me (Philly to DC) is kind of a big amalgamation of space with descent distro. Us folks down here further South will most likely never receive the same availability of beers so I'm with ya'll.
