Anything else coming out between now and the 31st? As happy as I am with a local spot that gets Kern drops from time to time, I’m even more excited about ordering direct!

 

Double Check Double IPA and California Lounge Chair IPA should be dropping in the next week or so.

That is still the original Class X release from March. A few cases lying around still...

 

At this point, Kern has solidified their selves as the best West Coast IPA brewery in California. Drinking Double Check right now and it is a beautiful thing.

 

Hope all is swell with the French Fire to the west of Kernville

 

Things are a little dicey. Kernville is under an "Evacuation Warning", which means we should all be ready to evacuate. Afternoon prevailing winds are straight at us. Wofford Heights 4 miles away is in much worse shape with "Mandatory Evacuations" and some structures lost. Just Oustanding and Unal trail have burned and Alta Sierra is surrounded by fires with some structures lost. And the smoke... All in all pretty crappy.

On the positive side, it seems from the smoke that fire crews made some progress yesterday, but hard to tell. We also made a Strata Fesh hop a couple of days ago and the brewery smelled amazing. The offices smelled like fresh hops instead of smoke for two days I guess it's the little things...

Some years ago, mi hermano pepe y yo worked, cut down dead burnt trees in Wofford Heights. It was like a working vacation, one time stayed right next to the brewery

 

Eric, my thoughts are with you and the residents of beautiful Kernville. Here's hoping that the fire fighters can get a handle on this fire quickly and the town, along with folks living in the nearby areas, is spared.
