He's converting us in droves! Trumer might need to get @steveh on the payroll, probably their most valuable advertising asset at this point

Surprised it took this long for you to get onboard the Trumer Train. It is everywhere around my part of the state.

I feel like i used to see them frequently. But I was also a pretty dedicated hop head for a long time and rarely looked at pale lager styles at all. Now that I've been poking around that corner of the shelf I have only seen trumer at two stores. I'll definitely be looking at 12 packs though

I'd be happy with a set of their distinctive glassware!

Similar to my path. I jumped off the IPA train a little more than a year ago. Now when I do have one I really experience the hops. Even just the standard Lags, Stone or SN Torpedo IPA are a great change of pace and highly enjoyable and conveniently available in tall single cans these days.

I found myself in a town a few weeks ago I hadn’t been to in years and a handful of the breweries I went to had that size for their carryout beers. I didn’t know what the hell to think.

Pronoun trouble. I now see that my post could be taken the wrong way. I wasn’t wondering if @AlcahueteJ ’s beer was from 2021, I was wondering if this was the first time that this beer was packaged this way (500ml 4 pack).

Oh you were clear, my eye roll was self-directed because I missed your quote of @AlcahueteJ .

But yes, the .5 liters are new for 2021.

I bought it in 6 pack (11.2 oz) bottles last August. It was the first time I’d tried it - or seen it sold in NJ, and it quickly became a favorite. I’m on it this year. Is it already on the shelves?

It is indeed, at least in my area.

Those are "fresh" 2021 cans, canned 3/22/21.

Dang! Not available where I shop. Those beautiful cans would’ve mixed in well amongst the BitBurger cans I always buy for my beach week cooler!

I said this to another fellow NJerseyan in another thread. At most places I frequent here in south jersey. Where are you? And have you used their beer finder. That’s how I found them originally before they showed up at more places.

[IMG] Again, a big difference from the Hefes I’ve tried from here at home. Far more spicy and complex flavor. I for one, didn’t get as strong a banana flavor as some apparently do according to the reviews. The flavors I got were much more spice/clove concentrated. Plenty of wheat and sweet malt presence as well. I liked this one and will try it again.

A few places around here with this on draft -- can't pass it up when I visit them.

As you probably know, from my previous postings. I have only seen Weihenstephaner beers on draught in town, some couple of years ago. It must have been a magical year. I don't expect to see any of them nor any German beers on draught again. I doubt that I will see ANY imports on draught other than a few Mexican Lagers and of course Guinness Draught.

I’m at the other end - Bergen County. Paulaner’s beer finder?

Oops I got the threads confused, I thought you were asking for weihenstephan cans. But yes I’ve used the paulaner one to find their pils locally, worked twice on two separate occasions. Still no festbier, I checked today

I need to revisit this beer since it's been a while for me. I usually end up with (in order of frequency) Weihenstephaner, Andechs, Paulaner, or Ayinger in my fridge. I don't think I've ever been disappointed with HB Munchen, but I never seem to reach for them when I'm at Binny's. Definitely agree on the superiority of German Hefes to domestic versions.

As someone slowly immersing myself into trad European beers, I've been sampling a lot of beers applicable in this thread.

Over the last few weeks, only one has inspired me to chime in here:

    Rothaus Pils Tannen Zapfle.

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/464/17015/

Crisp and easy to drink, but with a supple backbone that lets you know you're having a beer; light notes of caramel offering ballast for the effervescent bit and yeast-y profile up front.

A real showcase for the art of the lager.

    Can't wait to have another!!
