OMG - BT Spicy Island! I sure hope that's on the tap list this weekend!

    It's Sorry Not Sorry

The theme of this Hoarders-exclusive is monster decadence. A big villainous bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout....

Was posted on mybeerbuzz awhile back:

It’s unconventional, sure. Since COVID I’ve taken the position of tipping everyone in the service industry if I’m financially able to do so, which means I usually toss a few bucks on that tip line even though two years ago I would have left it empty.

Another question on the anniversary event:

Does anyone know if the Fulfillment Center is open for pickups tomorrow? I was hoping to do a pickup before the event.

Never mind, I see this is addressed in a recent email

So is Reserve not getting any of the new stout base this year?

3:04 PM… the event technically started four minutes ago… I already gave both my flights and my first full pour…

whatever mistakes there were last week have been beautifully ironed out! Well done Bruery!

I suppose that’s the trade off. I didn’t get to finish my pour of spicy island (could have chugged but MT was next on the list and wanted to stay alive) but that pint of Oreo and multiples of others was nice lol

I’ve got MT on the list for tomorrow or Monday… Had a spicy munchwrap yesterday so eager to try the Truck Stop one.

focusing on The Bruery/Terreux today. Glad I’m walking.

So now that my session is done, I’d say that this was honestly nailed! They worked out the kinks, no crowds, awesome Hoarders experience. The Roca, Tiramisu, and Mostra were highlights. Sapsicle was DANGEROUS, and DRINK YOUR PIE HAPPY IF YOU HAVE IT (100/100!!!).

I know I’ll get flak for this, but I’d totally do a party like this again. It was awesome!

    Well done, Bruery! A-A+

I had the early session yesterday (Saturday) and it started a little slow, but once the pours started everything went super smooth. I think maybe 4 hours would have been better since it looked like most people, myself included, were hurrying to finish their last pour at the end of the session.

Overall I had a great time and enjoyed the event, I would definitely do another one in this format.

Thanks! It sounds amazing! I kind of remember making a comment around this beer b/c it has been a common theme that HS gets a "whale" and then they make a similar beer for RS and/or general public.

    - Satisfies: BBA Stout w/Peanut, cocoa powder, cacao nibs, salt, and dulce de leche
    - Liberty Stoutwich: BBA Stout w/Peanut, salt, marshmallows, vanilla.
    - Sorry Not Sorry: BBA Stout w/ Peanut, cocoa powder, cacao nibs, salt

Guess I will have to do all 3 side-by-side to really taste the difference. Anyone else want to rate these in order once it comes out?

I agree that Saturday 3pm session was very organized! Got my 2 flights and first pour within the first 10-15 min. Staff seemed on top of it and had the carts loaded and ready to pour. They did not seem rushed and took some time to chat as well. Music was entertaining too! I almost got the beers so fast, that I was pretty much finished with them by 4:30pm! Feedback for next year:

    - Food truck portions felt kind of light. I mean, let's remember that it's a $75 event. Yes, yes....beer costs, tents, etc. I get it. Just felt like the food trucks strategically pulled back on their portion in hopes of having you order another. Plus, 1 of the 4 trucks did not accept the coupons and half of the menu of another was not allowed by use of the tickets (That Cali one). Was also bummed no Lime Truck. Instead, a green truck that looked like the Lime Truck was parked with no idea what they were serving. Menu was really sparse. Maybe coordinate to have each truck serve 2-3 items that they do really well and not overlap with one another.

    - The HS session was supposedly announced that they started early. No idea the time. My email said 5:30pm and there were about a dozen others who all showed up at 5:30pm. Depending on where you were sitting, you could not hear the announcements. Maybe they said it twice.....no idea. Went in for my 5:30pm time and they looked at us like..... uhhhh....we're already done. Awkward for like a min, but I'm very thankful they were willing to still do a rushed version of it and got to try the 3 barrels. I get the feeling the earlier attendees were able to enjoy more pours from the BT box. 15L barrel was definitely my favorite.

    - Maybe 1 fewer session next year. Try to move people in the lowest attended one. Overheard staff and they felt fatigued. Can't blame them at all. Hard to be excited and have the same energy 5-6 times in a row.

Overall, great job Bruery! While I look forward to a regular anniversary party next year, this was as much as I can could ask for in this COVID environment (even though most people are no longer masked).

I normally tend to stay away from the Terreux offerings... I couldn't even finish the last Tart of Darkness I tried but this one has me intrigued. Seems like it could be blended with enough non sour beers that it might not be overpowering? Note: I actually love when they blend the sour stouts with non sour stouts (BBLs etc.) What did folks think of Annuel from that respect??
