[IMG] Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup: (All 3/3 pairs correctly matched blind)

    1) Kansas Territory Brewing Life Coach Lager (4.2%):
An American Lager from Kansas that has flavors of cereal malts with smooth and earthy honey flavor on the finish.
    versus
    2) Leinenkugal’s Honeyweiss (4.9%): A krystalweizen wheat beer from Wisconsin that has flavors of corn, mash, and some adjunct notes. Yeasty.

    3) Golden Road Mango Cart (4.0%): A beer from California, this mango wheat ale has juicy flavors of mango with a wheat malt body.
    versus
    4) New Belgium Summer Bliss (5.5%): A tropical wheat beer from Colorado, this beer has juicy flavors of mango and wheat, but also with some lemon, lime, and coconut flavors.

    5) Bahaus Bestoked IPA (6.4%): A west-coast style IPA from Minnesota that has flavors of grapefruit, orange citrus and pine. A clean and relatively dry finish.
    versus
    6) Surly Havoc Machine IPA (7.5%): This West-coast style IPA from Minnesota brewed with Cascade, Chinook, and Amarillo hops has flavors of dank and resinous citrus, pine, and caramel malt flavors.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    1) Kansas Territory Brewing Life Coach Lager:
This American lager has fantastic and smooth flavors of cereal malts and honey. Incredibly smooth and leans sweet, but tasteful. Leinenkugal's continues to dissapoint.

    4) New Belgium Summer Bliss: Both were good, but this one has a sweet lemon/lime citrus, coconut, and flowery/peppery bite to it. Sort of reminds me of the Sam Adams Summer Ale (another great beer). Maybe that's what they were going for.

    5) Surly Havoc Machine IPA: Better on my second review, but this one has strong dank citrus and tropical berry notes. Resinous, dank, and piney. Full-blown WCIPA here.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you also dissapointed with Leinenkugal's Honeyweiss?
Have you tried New Belgium's Summer Bliss and what did you think? Similar to Sam Adams?
What is your go-to WCIPA these days?

I guess it is a bit of a hike from Maine to Virginia so the beer is probably not as fresh as it could be if it were brewed locally. But I gotta tell you the IPAs I have had were excellent.

    From a local newspaper:

“Aaron Rodgers to Washington in 2022? It's not as crazy as it might seem.”

    I can live with that.

    Time for another beer.

Ddrastic Measures Brewing Co. -- Krispy (German pilsner)

    4.32/5 rDev 0%
    look: 4 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.25

Moderate gold hued body capped with a thick, frothy, sticky, white head; robust small-bubble carbonation action; small, sticky globs of foam speckle the glass. Soft, fruity sweetness on the nose; floral; fresh. Delicately mild sweetness to the taste with a touch of light cereal grain; moderate hop bitterness overall; clean. Medium body; soft and mildly velvety; dull sweetness and finishes with a deft softness on the palate.

Drastic Measures produced a real winner of a German-style pilsner. It brings balance and depth to the palate. A fine, easy drinking beer that hits all the style points with flair.

Beer temperature at pour: 55 °F; no canning data found on the can.

Prairie Artisan Bourbon Paradise, 13.7% ABV. This may be a few years old. All coconut, chocolate, and bourbon. World-class, though I prefer Pirate Paradise.

[IMG] “No Pressure” Imperial Stout from Rare Bird Brewing in Traverse City. This is from my last vacation about 6 weeks ago and it’s still excellent. A testament to how a properly packaged crowler can maintain freshness. We went to Petoskey Brewing for dinner and I had a Cranium Crush and Blueberry Crush as well as a Horny Monk on tap. All were absolutely impeccable. Needless to say I’m bringing quite a bit home. Some of it earmarked for some good trading partners of mine. Cheers everybody. If you have a case of the Monday’s, enjoy one of your favorite beers.[IMG]

I got my ass handed to me in pickleball today, but at least the guy was a tournament winner so I feel slightly less embarrassed. At least the beer is good, although it has a bit more Motueka than I normally like....and the grapes (green seedless) are coming in most nicely. They make awesome raisins if I don't eat them as-is and if the wild critter don't eat them first
