Had tickets to see him again at a great theater in my neighborhood, probably around November 2019, before Covid did its thing, but it was cancelled for health reasons. Never found out exactly what was the issue, and hadn't heard anything in the news. Hoping anything major didn't get covered up by Covid coverage, and that he is just laying low. Saw him solo and as a duet set with Jackson Browne (not old enough to have seen them in the 70's ha).

 

Oh yeah love Live Rust, only peripherally familiar with Trans...but also love some of his later albums like Freedom, Harvest Moon (great follow up to Harvest) and Prairie Wind.

Ha, can't stand the Stray Cats...ducks out of the way I mean if you are going to meld rockabilly and punk into one thing, Costello is basically the only answer for me (at least as far as late 70's and 80's bands go)

 

Some homemade Mexican lasagna. Paired with some really good cab wine (no picture—I prefer to follow the rules). Needless to say friends the wine seems to be evaporating. Wife is begging me to save some of the lasagna.

 

My closer for this Monday and it is really tasty, but a tad thin. Sleep well all and I will see you around 6pm tomorrow.

*bows* apologies to the purists, but the first shot was about 20-25 mins ago? No WiFi in our kitchen when we close the door. That's some ORB Blocks of Light, one of my favorite beers on this good green Earth for its weight (6.2) and some bison kefta meatballs with hummus, wild rice, our garden tomatoes, some other fixins, and haloumi...

now it's about this new beer, Phase Three En Route DIPA? (Sadly it's from mid-May) 7.8%
A friend brought it over, and it also has Belma (meh), El Dorado (OK), and Talus (double meh) hops in it. Pretty good, but I suspect that fresher would be better on this. Still fun to try.

New toy - this is a pretty rare, gorgeous, 1977 lawsuit copy of a Howard Roberts guitar made in Japan. I just did this jam after getting the guitar so I didn't put a lot of effort into it. But man, I am digging this guitar.
