Notch Brewing (2021)

I’ve had it, it’s delicious. I was curious because I thought they only did that on Fridays and Saturdays.

 

Yeah, not sure if they’ve stopped the gravity casks of it on Fridays/Saturdays at Salem as Brighton is my outpost now. Last post I see about it is from July 2.

 

I'm curious how they store these barrels, are they stored in a cooler of some sort and at what temperature, does anyone know? @ChrisLohring

Stopped in today, no gravity cask. Still delicious on draft, but I wasn’t the only one there a little bummed.

 

Moving onto cans. I've always loved Nothing Gold

I finished my last Nothing Gold a couple weeks ago.

 

Nice low key spot in brighton. Nothing to go unfortunately.

But Notch Kolsch is a top 5 all time beer.

 

Weather was perfect for a night on the patio in Salem last night.

maybe enjoyed one too many pints as I needed a wee midafternoon nap today, but there’s nothing wrong with that in my book.

 

Sorry, I bought a few 4-packs on Friday when they opened. I was stop & shop and realized Notch opened in 15 mins, so…..

 

Wasn't too shabby yesterday afternoon as well!

Well, the beauty of Notch's beer is all you needed was a small midafternoon nap. If you go to an IPA factory and have one too many pints of IPAs you don't wake up the next day UNTIL the mid afternoon.

Walked by Miracle of Science yesterday and noticed they had Salem Lager on tap. I can't remember the last time I saw anything but their regular brews (Left of the Dial, Session Pils) on tap out in the wild.

 

Nice, I think that's one of Chris' favorite places. He often posted photos to IG from there when he was in Boston working on the new brewery. Would love to see more Notch draft options at places like Publick House or Lulu's.

 

Nice, was just saying that I hadn't been there in ages! Now even more reason.

 

Never been. I ALMOST stopped in, but I was already walking to Notch in Brighton anyways...

 

I was meeting up with some pals at Cornwall's in Kenmore Square last week and was a bit surprised and certainly delighted to see Salem Lager on tap. I think the two I dispatched there topped the canned iterations I've had.

I live in the heart of darkest suburbia now and don't often get back to the city, but I'm already plotting how to get the same pals to meet me next time at the new Brighton Notch location. Its easy walking distance from my old house haunts my dreams.

 

Beautiful day tomorrow. There is a distinct possibility of a Salem, Mass. (not offense, Salem NH) date night. I'd like to have a few on the water at Notch before a nice dinner. Upscale, cocktails, good food. Who's got my back here? Suggestions?

 

i was at Salem Thursday afternoon. Had an Ungespundet & the German Pils. Both were excellent.
