I just noticed that Churriosity is BBA and not CWB. I still have a little PTSD from the last edition and I'm wondering is it's not going to live up to the original. Notes would be appreciated.

Oh yeah, I think you're right. I guess the Included bottle page doesn't include quantity. I'm sure will show right in cellar tomorrow.

 

I realize this doesn't help with the new beers... But Pie Happy is just so damn good.

I'm enjoying the second half of a 2019 bottle I opened over the weekend and it's super smooth and mellowed. All the flavors are popping yet in balance. Doesn't even seem overly sweet anymore.

 

Bruesicles ...are getting canned again? Wow, it's been a long time since they stopped but super excited now.

That means the "charm" series will be rolling out soon enough right? Mango Charms...our favorite

 

When do included bottles typically make it to your cellar? I'd love to get this month's shipped quickly to figure out how many more I want to buy.

 

I dropped by and had a flight. The Bragg About It is still amazing! I foresee that being bottled or a return in some shape or form.

- Liberty Stoutwich: I thought was really light on the peanut and not as decadent as I remember. The marshmallow was barely notable. Just note that it was the first taster I had before having Sorry, Not Sorry. Going back to it felt like drinking a watered-down version of Sorry, Not Sorry.
- Chauncer's Chalice: It saddens me to realize that we get 2 of these bottles included. I know some of the reviews were high on Untapped, but I really could not tell what I was drinking. I didn't hate it, but didn't love it either. Maybe I need to go back and drink it solo, or can just open 1 of the 2 bottles to avoid spending any more $ on it. Not a fan at the moment. Couldn't get the honey, carmel, or spices. Maybe Bragg About destroyed my palette on this one?
- Sorry, Not Sorry: Subtle in the peanut category. I thought I was really going to get hit with that Reese's peanut-buttery center. Great chocolate up front. Maybe more like the Chocolate Rain version of Monster Stout? I'm probably going to max on this one since we only get 4.

 

I feel like it's usually pretty fast, but mine aren't showing up yet either. Probably just some website hiccups they're still working through.

 

Very curious about Churriosity. Any feedback would be appreciated (also recovering from last batch) but remember those succulent sips from B1 which we all know is best....

Bragg about it stood out for me as #1 during the Anni party, that planning to be bottled ?

 

Man, Chaucer’s Chalice makes me really wish I was a Hoarder. That beer sounds amazing!

 

Hoarders bottles should be in, and I'm working on getting the Resere bottles in by this afternoon!

Churro thoughts:

The new BA Churriosity is fantastic. I loved the original but skipped last year's based on the reviews. I'm burned out on their monthly pastry stout releases and skip them now, but this is really good. Tons of cinnamon (but not over done). Really rich body yet dangerously easy to drink. Creamy and sweet but not slimy or sickly or cloying. Just a lot going on yet all really well balanced. Maybe as good as OG batch? Certainly not much worse. I'm buying more.

BA Chocolate Churriosity. I did get a can of last year's non-BA and was underwhelmed like everyone else. This BA one is much better. But here's the thing: the chocolate is the most forward flavor. It's very tasty chocolate, but Bruery makes tons of beers with chocolate, so this one kind of just falls into the crowd. The cinnamon and dulche, which are the highlights in the non-chocolate version, get overwhelmed and muted. Passing on more of this.

 

Is there some kind of family tree style graphic that shows the different base beers and what variants they become? That would be very helpful!

so B3 is great whereas CCB3 is a choco meh?

 

Technically CC is just B2 since they didn't do a chocolate version of the original.

I think "meh" is too critical... It's more that if you just bought a bunch of Chocolate Cows, or still have some Sticky Chunks around, etc that you may opt for diversifying a bit.

Then again, if you love chocolate in stouts and can't get enough, I think you'll be very happy with your purchase.

 

That would be cool... I was just pondering if the Satisfies base is "SHIT" given the description:

"It just So Happens you’re not yourself when you’re thirsty..."
