Well, the trucker hat is a prop. Olsen's is in S MPLS. They have many good things. I wouldn't go near ludafisk. Can't even be in the same room where it's being prepared. Lie-soaked rancid gelatinized white fish. Nope.

I gotta be able to say I tasted it. I eat oysters and raw fish. All kinds of weird shit in a can. I ate menudo too. Cow intestine boiled. Fried is better. Fish eyes, frog legs, mountain oysters, rattlesnake, snails, crickets and agave worms. I wanna get some geoduck too. :sunglasses:

Lake Erie Monster IPA 9.5%. An Old fashioned photobombed. I hope @vabeerguy isn’t offended. If so, mea culpa. Cheers

[IMG] Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting is an All-Star Lineup! (All 3 out of 3 pairs correctly matched blind)

    1) Summit Dakota Soul (4.8%): This Czech Pilsner from Minnesota is brewed with North Dakota barley and has flavors of bitter flower, bread spice, and yeast.
    versus
    2) Surly Hell Lager (5.0%): A German-style helles/kellerbier beer from Minnesota that has flavors of wheat, lemonflower, and citrus flavors.

    3) Bells Oberon Ale (5.8%): A citrus wheat from Michigan that has smooth and gummy flavors of orange and wheat.
    versus
    4) Surly’s First Ave +1 (5.1%): A blonde ale from Minnesota that has flavors of earthy honey, flower, with a smooth and earthy honey and bread malt finish.

    5) New Belgium’s Voodoo Ranger V2K IPA (6.9%): A NEIPA from New Belgium that has flavors of tropical guava, papaya, and fruit punch. Extremely tropical. Reminds me of a red fruit roll-up.
    versus
    6) New Belgium's Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze IPA (7.5%): Another Hazy IPA from New Belgium that has flavors of citrus, pineapple, and light herbal notes.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Winners: (All of these beers were a Masterclass level in my book, so the winners are relative)

    2) Surly Hell Lager:
This one gets the win in the summertime. It's a fantastic representation of lemon citrus, lemonflower, and wheat flavors. I think I enjoy the maltiness of Dakota more in the colder months.

    3) Bells Oberon Ale: Again, this one gets the win in the summertime. The gummy orange, wheat, and smooth body fits so well for the summertime.

    6) Voodoo Ranger V2K IPA: This NEIPA is probably the best New Belgium IPA I've tried and best tropical IPA I've come across. Drinks intensely tropical and unique. Top quality here.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've started to see it disappear from the shelves recently, but do you think Surly Hell Lager should be continued?
Have you tried Voodoo Ranger V2K IPA and what did you think? What is your favorite New Belgium IPA or in the Voodoo Ranger series?

Brewed by Alewerks in Williamsburg, Virginia. I remember visiting the brewery over ten years ago when they were just a mom and pop operation. They have really expanded since those days.

You're welcome. And the good part: Those SNPAs will be mighty fine when you get to them. They're built to last, are they not?

    Cheers!

Yes, would like to second this. My only regret was not bringing a bigger cooler so I could give a few local Chicago beers to everyone. I gave him the remaining ones I brought that we didn't share for all of his hospitality and time both preparing the beer and gathering, and entire day spent at the brewery on his day off. Very nice you were able to share yours with other BAs. Was very nice meeting his Mother/Don's wife as well.

Not sure if Nate also brought the MOAS as well, but wasn't there if those were shared, had to pace anyway with the long drive home. The Pryor Engagement beer is outstanding.

Hoping 2020 is the only year I miss my annual trek to 3 Sheeps, especially since they don't distribute much here anymore (we initially got most of their releases when they first opened).

    Cheers!
