I think people’s consensus up there is Ledger

Just received my first subscription box: 3 Altbier, 3 German Afternoons, 3 Lost in the Dream and 3 Salem Lager

This is exactly the kind of variety I was hoping for from a lager subscription. Can't wait to crack in to em. Unfortunately it make take a while to get em chilled as the box was surprisingly hot. Was lucky it only sat on the porch for about 5 minutes.

Will your UPS driver drop them off at your door without a signature? I'm nervous every month that I'll miss the driver and have to wait an xtra day!

I've done several mail order beer shipments from various breweries/services and I've never had Fedex or UPS ask me for ID

My 6 month subscription was a mix. Rang doorbell twice for sig, dropped at door 4 times without ever ringing bell.

Could you imagine being a kid in high school these days. Mail order beer is possible and pornography is not found in the woods. Downright spoiled.

I see nothing wrong with drinking The Beast that someone's older brother bought you out in the woods with a beaten up Hustler.

Ugh, I missed the delivery person by 10 minutes yesterday (I have always had to sign for my Notch deliveries). So now I wait all day today for my box of beers to arrive and hope that they aren’t cooked.

I already have the ice bath ready!

I've ordered four times and had to sign all four times, same as you. Might depend on the whims of the driver (?)

I got my package last night (signature required). We must be at the end of our driver's route because he never arrives before 6:30pm. The assortment of lagers this month is top Notch. I'm looking forward to cracking a couple open tonight.

Does anyone have more info on what Rob from Notch was talking about in his email last week?
The part about “using the same ingredients, but getting a totally different beer by adjusting simple things like mash temp.”

I’d like to know if the German Afternoons and Salem Lager have the malt bill, with similar mash routines, but different hops? Or maybe he was talking about different beers altogether?

Really, I just want all the recipes so I can make them myself I guess.
Who am I kidding, I’m too lazy to do that. I stopped home brewing YEARS ago when I realized it’s better to buy great beer then make ok beer.

They have changed the malt bill before, but seems like Rob is talking about the approach: mashing regimen…hop contract staying firm

    What @M-Fox24 said.

Plus if I recall correctly Salem Lager is a Helles and German Afternoons is a Northern German Pils. Opposite ends of the hop spectrum (regarding IBUs and hop perception).

I'm in Watertown, which is a hub, so last stop for driver. They likely don't give a fuck at that point!

My UPS guy basically told me this. “You’re the last neighborhood on my route. By that point I just want to go home.”

it also means that at Christmas packages come at like 9:30

OH SHIT! Your battery is low.

But seriously, I think they told me that Saturday and I completely forgot. Looks like I’m going to have to make this another week I hit up Notch (I think it’s been every week since they opened).

Think I’ll wander over tomorrow afternoon. Those beers are right in my wheelhouse.

Keep us posted on how they are!

I’m trying to figure out when I can head over. Pretty packed schedule this weekend, especially with the Lager Fest online.
