Three Floyd’s Munsterfest. My first Oktoberfest of the “season”. Named after my hometown, so I really can’t pass it up any time I come across it. It’s not a chore either…this is an outstanding Marzen.

I got Rosetta Stone but I failed at using it. Te amo cerveza. Tequila. Mezcal. Banos. Ceviche. Pesca are like my favorite words. Gracias.

 

Starting off the evening with 18th Street A Deal With The Devil. It sales pale ale on the can, but it’s 8.5% It’s listed on BA as an imperial IPA. This can is right at 90 days old unfortunately. Seems pretty malty and a little boozy, but I like it.


Simon Gallup, the bass player for The Cure posted on Facebook that he is leaving the band. That’s a damn shame. He did leave during the tour supporting Pornography, but was back in ‘84 when they started recording The Head On The Door. Think I will post some of my favorite Simon bass tunes tonight.

 

It has been many moons ago but this was my introduction to pale ales and IPAs.

Three Floyds Cheer Team

From 16 oz can marked: PKGD 06/16/21

Poured into my tulip this beer is a a translucent gold with a dense creamy ecru head which rings the glass with lace as it falls.

Scent is candied oranges, tangerines, pineapple, grapefruit.

Taste is again sweet candied oranges, tangerines, pineapple. Touch of grapefruit. Lime. Pine resin. Tropical fruit. The initial rush of candied sweetness is met head on by a spicy resiny bitterness resulting in a perfectly balanced brew. There's even a subtle earthy dankness underneath.

Mouth is oily with a nice viscosity and a bitter dry finish.

Big bold DIPA with an array of bright sweet citrus and tropical fruit flavors and a stout West Coast style bitterness. Tastes bigger than the 7.7% ABV would suggest. After being sllightly disappointed by the first two Floyd offerings I tried this one more than redeems them. An excellent DIPA I'll buy again.

 

Except the gap in the middle. Third monitor and another multiple monitor stand or a bigger desk top. $500 hundred more dollars??

 

Settling in for a film on Netflix and a snulip full of Citraquench'l. Cheers!
