Totally agree, biting my tongue hard the last few days, but there are more appropriate forums for that topic. I get to speak with active duty guys (mainly Apache pilots) every 3-4 weeks and we have ~275 vets working at our site, at least 75% served after 2001, nobody was prepared for the turn of events. Our company sent out an email to all employees offering support/counseling to anyone needing it. Not to minimize the importance/devastation of the turn of events but cheers to every vet/disabled vet from that era.....first had this beer with @mickyge (coach) at Wormtown in May, great beer!

Maybe more appropriate now than the other 30 times I posted it....

 

Finishing tonight’s dessert - “It’s Super Chill on Carolina Lane”, by DSSOLVR, Asheville NC, a Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Porter using lager yeast with Muscovado sugar added:



A collaboration with The Eighth State Brewing Company, that I bought at the DSSOLVR brewery. Bourbon, sugary dark stone fruity esters nose. Taste follows with flavors of roast malt and chocolate; sugary raisins and charred plums followed close behind. Very well balanced - the added sugar tempers the bitter roast. A Porter, still, thin for 12%…I’ll sleep good tonight - Cheers!

Turning my thoughts to more positive thoughts; they show last night was great. 2 of the original members & they were true to the music. They did a great version of this last night.



Did some beer hunting at Fort Smith, didn't encounter a ton of new stuff ( not surprised ) Did find this Ommegang Bourbon Barrel Adoration Spiced Dark Belgian Ale. Oh yeah they did a great job on this too

 

Logsdon Farmhouse Ales Arcane Methods blended sour ale - nice tart fruited sour that went well with leftover meatloaf!

Yeah. Long time coming. Not to get too deep into it, but this was created in '02. The Tban flat-out quit, but for show , "we" pursued them to their (individual)homes, & forced them to start fighting again. Everything since has probably been a postponement of the inevitable.

Now, recycled pic, 'cause the cat is asleep on my lap. He's ~19, & like many old guys, his main concern is whining about when the dinner menu @ Denny's [Mike's] will be served. It has been, but he may not remember that fact, & will whine anew. ( Me ? Pork spiedie sandwich, with (my) fresh tomatoes & cucumbers, and tzatziki - not quite a gyro from Pete's Diner, but good enough. )

 

This was such a great pickup last Friday. $18.99 and just drinking superb! Night all.

 

Seriously?!!? I would have never suspected the Flock being that loud!! For me, the two loudest shows I've ever attended (on separate occasions) was Ted Nugent and Korn. I left both venues with ringing ears, both were great in concert!

 

Crazy loud but very clear. It was painful yet amazing.

Time for the Mets in San Fran. Played sunday night in NY and traveled across the country to play a hot Giants team. We are in trouble but good beer makes it all good. Speaking of cali, going with one of my fave breweries out west, Pure project. Cheers
