Twin Cities Bottle Sightings (2021)

Saw some Bell's Vanilla Black Note, as well as various Prairie stouts, at Central Avenue Liquors, which is just down the block from Fair State. The label on the Black Note said it was from 2019.

 

If you or anyone else needs to restock their stash, Falls Liquor still has at least five 4-packs of it.

 

Wow, six weeks since the last post after the 'integration' with half the rest of the U.S.

Black Butte XXIII just dropped this past week: bourbon barrel aged with chocolate, vanilla beans, & maple syrup. In four packs of 12 oz. bottles! Huge improvement on the format. Plus no orange rinds or other such nonsense.

 

Saw some bombers of Disgruntled Pour Ol’ Sap Hazelnut at the store yesterday, can anyone chime in on whether or not they like it? I think I will buy one but thought I’d ask before pulling the trigger.

That beer is magical. Having had hit-or-miss experiences with Disgruntled (I hate crowlers in stores) I wouldn't have bought one, but had multiple samples at All Pints North, ran home, found a store with bottles, & drove 45 minutes to pick up 3. I haven't seen them anywhere near the south metro yet but if I do, I might pick up another bottle or two.

For you tickers that need a beer from South Dakota, Remedy Brewing out of Sioux Falls is available in 12oz cans in metro stores.

 

I don't suppose you noticed if you saw their Skolberry Blueberry Wheat?
And if so, where.

 

Total Wine in Burnsville has some Remedy beer, but not the Skolberry. They have Hefe Metal, Queen Bee, Remedy IPA, and Copter Hazy IPA (at least they do according to their web site).

 

A great beer & two warnings.

Boulevard "Let's Keep It Platonic" has shown up in very limited quantities. I've seen it at Total Wine & Blue Max. It's a barrel aged stout in collaboration with Weldwerks & Side Project. It's magnificent.

Two more bottles of Disgruntled barrel aged stouts have shown up. Based on Pour Ol' Sap I snatched up a bottle of each. DON'T! Both Full Send & YOLO are as infected as I've ever had the displeasure of putting in my mouth. Unless you like flushing money down the toilet, avoid these two. Really disappointing, since Disgruntled clearly has the chops to make top flight beers.

 

I did notice their Skolberry at Vintage Liquor in Chanhassen this last Tuesday. So it should be at other stores.
