San Diego Stout heavy breweries...

    Going to be in San Diego this weekend and wanted a little help.

    Besides the obvious one being Alesmith( where I am surely going to spend too much of my money)
    What are other breweries that have good stouts, imperial stouts, barrel aged stouts ?
    Last time I went i hit Border X, Ballast,Alesmith,MT and Stone.
    With the crazy number of breweries there i am lookin for some with little to no distribution outside the immediate area.

    Also i know its dead ass summer and its probably a long shot but here i am...


    I just looked at Alesmiths Limited Taplist and probably won't need to visit anyone else.

    BA Vietnamese Coffee on tap and they have the new variant as well. Sheesh.

    You seem to be already set on visiting, but to hype it even more...this version is dangerously close to the 2014OG....so damn delicious.

    Im spending a day there. I always do. I just want to know if anything else is out there with good Stouts. It may be a futile attempt to find others

    Still!, i've never been to either Alesmith o Horus, have had some Horus on draft @NativeSon in Santa Ana, I've had some collabs in cans as swell. Overall, I would rather go to Alesmith :slight_smile:

    Also, i am interested in the latest speedway 4pack can variety, still no regular mexicans on alesmiths beer finder. 2wks nothing vs 2yrs :slight_smile:

    Mikkeller and Pure Project seem to always have some stouty deliciousness and they are nearby to Alesmith.

    Never had anything from Pure Project and forgot that Mikeller was out there.

    Im going to be staying at an Air BNB 2 blocks away from the Ballast Point Homebrew store which ive visited about 3 times in years past , but will probably only go to try to get a 4 pack of the BA Victory At Sea . Sometimes they have RnD stuff that just blows me away and since they were bought by that small brewery i have hope.

    Pizza Port in Ocean Beach is not that far from where you are staying. Even closer is Modern Times, which has a ton of pastry stouts. No idea if they have them on tap tho.

    They actually keep their taplists relatively up to date on their website.

    Edit: And Leanne legit just posted a video on the league FB group that Lomaland has Ultra Coffee, Ultra Vanilla, and just put on a keg of Ultra Cuvee.

    I have 0 interest in Modern Times. I have one 10 minutes from me on Downtown same taplist and their stouts lately have been cloying.

    At Pizza Port OB now..they had 0 imperial stouts. Disappointed as shit but at the least they had Dark Star on Nitro and DDH Pliny off tap.
    Way too many flies here...horrible music and terrible pizza.
    Never coming here again.
