A month from now, somebody is going to notice @APCreative_ hasn't been on the thread and ask @iLoveDonuts where he is at and Daniel be like "Bangkok has him now..."

    Based on https://mybeerbuzz.blogspot.com/2021/08/the-bruery-adding-sticky-manners.html?m=1

It appears they renamed it "Save Me a Slice" just to prove you wrong.

Okay..... who wants to comment on the BT Single Barrel Project? I'm still digesting and do not know what to say..... Not sure if I'm excited or intimidated by it. lol

The new one looks to be all bourbon barrels rather than also some maple syrup barrels like You Want was... So maybe they decided to change the name to make clear it's not a straight re-brew like Liberty was?

If so, that's a very good approach after all the confusion around Churriosity.

Should still be tasty, so I'm excited!

Hard pass for my group. I was hoping for some adjuncts to add for additional cost and mentioned that in the survey similar to Prairie dawgs. I didn't think the different barrel sizes really stood out that much at the anniversary event and what's being offered just seems like 40 bottles of black Tuesday with custom label.....sorely disappointed.

    First thoughts.....

    1) Really awesome opportunity and proud to be a part of a membership that can offer something like this.
    2) Given this is sort of like a "future", I think they should have done something like Eclipse and take a down payment. 50% tops.....that's a lot of $$$ to take out of pocket. I guess the reality is that more people are going to split the barrel, but it takes a little time to coordinate that.
    3) Love the idea of keeping it and willing to let you just have the barrel head to put on your wall!
    4) With such as investment, we should at least be given the option to pick the barrel in person or via FaceTime. Ever heard of baudonia? Not sure of the science, so maybe The Bruery science wizards could comment. Can it grow in the barrels with beer in it and in Southern CA? I guess it just makes me wonder of the variation on a barrel depending on where it is stacked, right?
    5) This is likely going to cannibalize sales for BT for me. Probably not enough participants where it's going to really impact their overall sales.

Still no thoughts on 5, 15, or 30 gallon. The consensus was the 15 gal was the preferred barrel. However, the barrel was still young and they will all continue to develop. Also, do I really need to buy a barrel worth of the most smooth BT? I am thinking I might want the most unique BT, so the 5 gal. Not to mention the financial commitment is less. haha!

Especially with hoarder renewals coming next month...kind of a tough time to launch the barrel project.

I'd personally love to do the 15 gal - would love to throw one of my big stouts into the barrel for a couple years and soak up everything it has to offer.

That being said, that's a lot of BT and I know if I can get my beer group on board to buy a few bottles each, they probably wouldn't be buying any more for a while. Being out of state makes it even more spendy, unfortunately. (~$60-70/12 bottles shipping, plus shipping for the barrel).

The 5 gallon is an attractive entry point, but I've done extended aging (more than a few months) with stouts in small barrels and know how crazy oaky they can get. The 5 was my least favorite of the samples last month as well, so... would rather buy a bunch of grand reserve I think.

Glad to see the 5 gallon offering sold out at least. I was just about to pull the trigger for my beer group as we just drummed up enough interest for it and saw it was no longer available. Maybe I can convince everyone to triple their interest... lol

@iLoveDonuts - Do you happen to know if the Terreux merch sale will allow our RS/HS discount to stack on top of the 20% off?

What’s the acidity like on the recent bruesicles? They had mentioned in the canning video that it basically had none but that seemed odd.

I briefly considered the 5 gal barrel but I have a lot of other things commanding my attention and dollars at the moment. Also, the truth is that other than my spouse most of our circle don't go for the high ABV stuff, so that's a lot of extra bottles sitting around to age. Would have been cool, though and may have pulled the trigger anyway at half the price point. Looking forward to hearing from those who did when their bottles become available.

I second this. Having "your own" BT bottles is cool and all but it's not like you get much input into it. Do they choose the barrel for you? Because if so, that's just a bunch of bottles of single barrel BT.

It would've been cool to be able to adjunct it the way you wanted, make it more personal than just a label.
