@Luscious_Malfoy I opened one on July 24th & completely agree. Fantastic for sure! I don't have a good enough taste/smell to tell you yep that's Nelson(quite possibly my favorite hop) but not one to be slept on.

If I wasn’t taking a break from buying beer in August I would be all over it. Great beer

Bought one on release day, just opened it tonight. Ordered 3 more before the bottle was even half empty. This is seriously great stuff.

Discussion of SP and Perennial using the 'tose in most of their stouts on FB is a gold mine of entertainment.

Is it in one of the groups? I think there's a legitimate discussion to be had on the subject but as always on FB it's bound to just be dumb.

Oh, on FB, lol. It wasn't even a possibility. It was an absurd question, let alone notion. Totally unbelievable. No, it can't be true. And then it was, well it doesn't matter, they're not required to disclose it, no reason to any way, it's not in any way responsible for the viscosity of their stouts. No mention of their consumers' health or ethical concerns.

Rachel actually just now disclosed that there are "trace amounts" of lactose in almost all their stouts. To me, that kind of language is usually reserved for factories whose ingredients might happen to come into contact with something not really intended to be an ingredient, like "we also manufacture candy bars with peanuts in this factory" or some such.

A lot of other breweries have gotten a ton of shit for using lactose from the same people who offer up SP as a shining example on the hill of how NOT to.

Yeah, this was pretty eye opening to me. There's nothing wrong with using lactose, but since it fucks with some people's ability to digest it, it would be nice going into a beer knowing what you're up against.

Where on FB is it? I'm in a few groups but haven't seen it and am curious to read it if public or in a group I'm in (I don't check them very often). I thought it was common knowledge they use lactose, but I guess not (although I do think it should be on the labels).

Perennial does put 'Contains Lactose' on their stouts. I just checked a 2021 bottle. Not sure when they started but it's there now.

Yeah, my BA Sump '21 definitely said it. 'Twas a great beer either way too. I have no digestive issues with lactose, but I have friends who do so I appreciate when breweries put it on there. Just be transparent and own it. Wish all breweries would do this.

8 beers available in online store, Zwanze Day tickets going on sale this week both in person and online, and Brewery Tasting Room to open in a couple weekends. What more do we need?
