Similarly, it is surprising to me how few reviews I have for some styles I very much enjoy. IPA profusion is clearly out of scale. This is an example of data being an insufficient resource for understanding the full dynamics. In this case identifying an individual’s preference from ratio of reviews. This said, maybe there is a correlation at the macro scale.

Perhaps some sort of metric to capture frequency of revisiting a specific beer, as opposed to adding new ones, might shed some light on that aspect?

It seems there's always no shortage of brand new IPAs out for consumption, while brand new pilsners seem more rare.

Individual Beer Stats, by style, includes the average rating NYS style. Still imperfect, though seemingly a closer correlation.

I don’t think we need a metric for individual preferences, as we each know ourselves. Your idea still misses what one reviews frequently vs. what one enjoys, simply because we fail to review every beer we drink.

This goes to what @cjgiant was saying & part of the impetus for my post. I read "somewhere" that Pilsners were the next coming big thing & I got really excited. I had long ago retired the "Logger (Lager)" badge, but other than imports, Pilsners remained a rarity. I really wanted to close out the Pilsner badge before now, but the CANticipated abundance never materialized. 8=( The longer that this CANtinued, the greater my desire beCANe. It's good to have it in my rear-view mirror, but I am still going to be looking for new Pilsners.

Woody, I am not familiar with the Lancaster County Pilsner scene but in the Philly area it seems that I 'discover' a new Pilsner every couple of weeks.

In a recent thread I discussed a couple of new Pilsners:

"And the good news (for me at least) is that I find more and more Pilsners being locally brewed. This past weekend I visited a small, local craft brewery that I have not been to since prior to the pandemic. To my joy I saw they had a German Pilsner on tap that they brands as Farmhouse Pils - this beer was brewed per a recipe provided to them by a Bavarian hop farmer (from the Tettnang region I believe). If I ever obtain canned versions of this beer I will discuss it in an upcoming NBW thread (and I will tag you).

And since you mentioned CAP beers, another small, local craft brewery recently opened up (a few months ago) and they brew a beer that is intended to be a reconstruction of the original beer of Schmidt's of Philadelphia brewery. They cleverly brands this beer as O.G. (Old Guy) Pils:

"O.G Pils Legendary Philly Lager American Lager
    4.9% ABV
    Norristown, PA

This is our take on a family recipe dating back 6 generations. Our very pale American Lager has been built on a base of pale 2-row barley, 6-row barley, and flaked maize to create the most thirst quenching and neutral flavor profile possible. Very light body and drinkable."

The Farmhouse Pils I discussed above is brewed by Locust Lane (Malvern, PA) and this past weekend I visited a second time and purchased a four-pack this time around. I will be discussing this beer in an upcoming NBW thread.

Speaking of NBW, a couple of weeks ago I discussed a new Pilsner Troubles End The Peak which was served via a side-pull Lukr faucet/tap:

I think you really deserve that pilsner badge! How many additional ticks do you need? This is for a good sake.

Why is it called Untappd? Makes no sense. Beer kegs are tapped to get the beer out, not untapped. Would you name a movie review site UnSeen or a restaurant rating site Uneat'n?

It's not logical to be logical here. I think the 'un' part of the name merely gives permission to deconstruct a beer for a rating or review, however logical that opinion might be.
