Doesn't matter (at least not last year) what group you are in. The groups are only for picking up your Dark Lord allocations.

Thanks - I wasnt implying that. I had A last year, got there super early, and the people I was with wanted to take off early evening. This year, Ill be getting there early and forced to stay for C's distribution. Then hopefully profit with some taps afterwards

the Friday "tasting" started becoming some what of a cluster fork. There was definitely a variety of great beer broken out, lots of "oh yeah, well I have this" type of conversation.
the Saturday "tasting" was more laid back, with guys saying "I brought this to share" and was more low key where the security guard left for an hour and then came back.
Dont get me wrong, both nights were a blast. Saturday was better to me. Maybe I'm just getting old.

I see, makes total sense. I would definitely encourage those who plan on staying all day to wait out the pub lines and hit the pub after the crowd dies down. There are way too many other great tastings going on and people to meet/share with than to wait in a line all day. Thinking about last year's experience, makes me want to use my tickets, but that doesn't look like it will happen.

My buddy and I were way to hammered to sit down for that Saturday tasting, age and exhaustion played a major factor.

This post cracks me up. You mention the one-upmanship of the Friday tasting as something you weren't fond of, then end by essentially one-upping the entire Friday tasting by saying the Saturday tasting was better.

This is what I like to hear! Thanks for the info. As I said before, I'm bringing some stuff I've been holding onto for awhile.

BTW, I may have space available on Friday night if anyone needs a place to crash. Our room will be full Saturday.

So does this mean two separate lines? One for the brewpub, and one to buy the bottles? Sorry, first time to the event. I will be in group A, so even if I get in early should I just expect to wait in both lines for several hours?

no reason to wait in line for your bottles, go in, have a good time, drink some, hang with some friends. Once the line dies down, go get your bottles. With your ticket, you get your beer, so go off and have fun with others, beer will be there.

The security lady outside the gates yelled "Put away all of your imports. No Corona or Heineken!" haha. The Cantillons were safe.

Well it kind of does. I don't remember any PVW Dark Lords being left when my group went through for C lot.mits first come first serve for the limited stuff.

My response was in reference to standing in line for the pub (not acquiring dark lord) and it was a misunderstanding on my part with what the initial poster was referring to.

Ahhh. Well after last year I know that standing in line for the pub isn't necessary. They had Oak Aged Dark Lord and BA Alpha Klaus on draft the next morning, along with other limited beers.

Yeah, that was what I was trying to say...no reason to wait in a line all day for the pub, just go when the crowds die down.

I do not understand why people are waiting all day to get into the brewpub once you are in the event already. I could be wrong, but I believe all the BA beers on tap in the brewpub are also outside on tap in the beer tent, with next to no line, and available almost the entire day. The brewpub has good food and all, but you can go in there any day and wait half an hour.

They bottled roughly 500 of each variant last year, correct?

Oak Aged and Vanilla were only on tap inside the brewpub, to my knowledge.
