Other Half (2021)

Took one for the team and bought the Highland Park collab. If you like a lot of sweet and a booze finish this one is for you. Not really mellony, maybe just needs some time.

No pils. Picked up some Galaxy + Citra, can report on tomorrow.

 

I will be at the taproom tomorrow most likely, will give some feedback on some things. If anyone from the crew is around and wants to grab one let me know.

I had a Green City at a bar in Hell's Kitchen last night and it was one of the best pours of Green City I have ever had.

 

Anyone else have their No Escape From Western New York online order canceled before pickup? They must have oversold it...

Galaxy + Citra another super sweet one, seems like that’s the theme with this weeks beers. At least it hides the taste of their recent galaxy heavy beers. Just never know what you’re gonna get these days out of OH

Burrito Violation is real good IMO. Pretty much what I’m looking for these days.

 

DDH Citra+Galaxy is good. I don’t find it overly sweet but I also don’t find it as good prior iterations. But def worth a grab

Wow thanks for the tip, grabbed a couple of bottles of BA Snowbirds 3. That was actually my favorite beer of 2020, hopefully they've been kept in a cold place so the adjuncts hold up.

 

both highland park collabs are on point, immensely drinkable, snap em up. timbo pils is a top 5 LA staple and Breeze's take nails the ipa/pils hybrid

Pastrytown is coming in November! As a first-timer, I have a couple of questions. Is the early access worth it? Also, does the all-in ticket feature exclusive beers that won't be available for general purchase?

 

Yes and....I think yes

 

Has Other Half ever done a wet-hopped IPA?

 

As far as I'm aware, no, but I only really started going to OH in 2016 so perhaps before that maybe? The logistics for it being out on the East Coast are really hard, unkilned hops have a very short shelf life and most of the hops are out in Yakima/Willamette.

 

I remember asking Anthony about that in their first year when the tap room was still a lazy place. He told me they're all about the pellets, it being a better technology.
