    So I have a question…

how do I know if my Hoarders renewal went through? I haven’t received a receipt or seen anything, nor have I heard that a payment was declined or something. I just want to make sure that payment is all squared away.

I’ve loved my time as a Hoarder, and the beers are only getting better at this point. I want to make sure I don’t miss out because of a payment snafu.

I got an email (two actually) on the 17th/18th with the renewal charge. Subject "Congrats, this is your confirmation for order #54xxxx" from the society@bruery account.

    Check your spam? Email society@bruery?

Yep, my second bottle of Chew has turned. Pungent on the nose. Mostly vinegar notes. Gone are any flavors of vanilla, graham, or bourbon. This is a first for me. I guess I need to contact societies?

I got a "$0.00" Hoarders receipt weeks ago, but never an email with the actual charges. I do see where my VISA has been charged, though, so I assume I'm good.

The nice thing now is virtually every release is available for quite awhile via archive sales, so you have time to buy one and try before stocking up.

I think Mai Zombie has been the only thing in truly limited supply this year, and they were pretty good about communicating that before it went on sale.

I cracked a manky panky on Friday and Parley Porter last night and man, both were tremendous. Really happy with how both turned out.

Opened up a Sucre Rum - it's great. Heat is totally gone, just smooth and mellow. Rum adds a nice bright kick that complements the base really well; the fruitiness of the base plus the rum actually gives it tropical cocktail vibes, which is very on-brand for The Bruery this year!

They really need to do a multiple barrel treatment again. I absolutely loved to see what the different barrels brought to the table with the same base beer.

I never tried the cordial one but enjoyed S'more, Fuzzy, and Black & Blue (not going to count chocolate salty cause it wasn't sour)

    So I ran two experiments.

Day 1: Cherry Chocolate Rain 2019
Day 2: CCR blended with SHIT roughly 50/50

    Day 1: Big Blue Stacks
Day 2: 50/50 Big Blue Stacks with BCBS (I didn't have any SHIT left and a few folks mentioned how well BCBS blends)
Day 3: 70/30 BCBS / Big Blue Stacks

Conclusions is that I liked having day 1 being unadulterated so I can get the perspective of what the bruers were going for, but I did enjoy the beer more overall on day 2/3 by blending it with something less hot. I think I am going to stick with SHIT as the blending agent over BCBS.

    Thank you for your report.

I am looking forward to the day when someone compiles all of our anecdotal blending observations into a proper comprehensive study. I believe the evidence will magically convert from anecdotal to scientific, based on how these things work.

Oooo! Based on info page for next year's RS it looks like that Firestone colab is getting two versions. "Base" for RS and then the adjuncted HS version.
