[IMG] Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup has a few of the Greats: (All 3 out of 3 pairs correctly matched blind)

    1) New Glarus Two Women Lager (5.0%): A German-style Helles lager from Wisconsin that has hoppy and yeasty flavors of lemonflower, lemongrass, yeast, grains before bready malts.
    versus
    2) Paulaner Original Munich Lager (4.9%): A German Helles lager that has smooth flavors of grassy and lemon hops atop a toasty honey malt profile.

    3) Boulevard’s Bob ‘47 Oktoberfest (5.8%): A Marzen-style Oktoberfest from Kansas City that has flavors of lemon citrus hops and an astringent Bavarian yeast atop a smooth toasty bready malt profile.
    versus
    4) Sierra Nevada’s Oktoberfest 2021 (5.5%): An amber Marzen style from California with flavors of sudsy orange, pine soap, and smooth caramel malts.

    5) New Belgium’s V2K IPA (6.9%): A NEIPA from Colorado that has flavors of tropical cherry, red fruit punch, guava, and papaya. Extremely tropical.
    versus
    6) Toppling Goliath King Sue (7.8%): A hazy IPA from Iowas since 2014 that is brewed with Citra hops and has flavors of orange citrus, pineapple, and mango.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    1) New Glarus Two Women Lager:
This one has a nice hoppy flavors of lemonflower and lemongrass with a strong yeasty body to balance out the smooth golden malts. More hoppy than Paulaner. Extremely enjoyable.

    4) Sierra Nevada's Oktoberfest: A better beer here, but not sure about Oktoberfest. This one has a huge sudsy orange and pine soap flavor, but as I've said before, I don't think it drinks like an Oktoberfest.

    5) New Belgium's V2K: I think this one holds its own as one of the best macro IPAs out there. Not quite a creamy as King Sue, but the unique tropical flavors of cherry and red fruit punch is unique and I think deserves teh win today.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you tried New Glarus Two Women Lager and what did you think?
Have you tried Boulevards Bob '47 Oktoberfest or Sierra Nevada's Oktoberfest, and what did you think?
Have you tried New Belgium V2K IPA and what did you think?

Well the Gmen season is probably shot again after another dissapointing loss at home. This era is starting to remind me of the 70-80 pre Parcells era. Fans are already starting to boo..
Time for a good beer and if previous experiences with Beachwood are an indication this will be tasty.

The pour is crystal clear amber gold with a bleached white 3 finger head that has good retention settling to a thin ring with great world map lacing.
Lots of columns of rising bubbles make this a beautiful looking beer to start.
The smell is classic West Coast pine, grapefruit, grassy hops and a bit of candied tropical fruit.
And the taste follows with a bit of berry, melon and and such very tiny hint of sweet before that almighty bitterness hits with a dry finish. Hot damn this is classic WC x 2 with no hint of 10%. Its going down fast - and I need a painkiller!
    Excellent beer Dane!! Thank you.

Wasn't planning on staying long. Then out of nowhere my buddy Louis shows up to do a burger pop up, one of the coolest guys around and makes some of the best smash burgers. So I had to stay for one of those

With the Oktoberfest, always good, and the burger is great.

Exercise helps, but I have diabetes type 2 - hereditary so I still have to avoid starchy foods high in carbs. I can still eat some foods I like but in small portions. I've been walking briskly for a 1/2 hour after dinner which supposedly can reduce A1C by about 22% - the key is to walk after eating. Cheers!

Good Sunday afternoon, virtual bar mates. I hadn't visited Kane Brewing Co. for too long I was very happy to see they still have bottles of their 2019 anniversary blend. I just reviewed it on the NBW thread. Will save some for tonight and cleanse with an IPA. Cheers!

Getting ready to go see the documentary Fire Music later tonight. All about free and avant garde jazz. Only being played in theaters (I'm sure PBS will play it eventually ha), and in a tiny one in my neighborhood called 14 Pews. This place is great, its an over 100 year old building that was a church, but has been converted to a theater that plays music, plays or indie films. It literally only has 14 pews, and has been a staple for the arts in my neighborhood for decades.

    Check out the trailer

Good games today, and no stress. Yet.

Probably my last of these until next Summer. Kind of sad, really enjoy this beer.

Hanging in the Beer Garden with good friends. Been cracking some special Barrel Aged Stouts and this one is definitely worthy of that "special" label.
