I like to buy local and have been in a porter mood; kindof a seasonal thing. Aside from Yuengling and Yards, who else makes porters in SEPA? I'd like to get a shopping list together. Thanks!

Well that's a handy list. I've had Purple Monkey Dishwasher; don't recall if I had Sly Fox Mudlust as I usually avoid coffee-flavored beer.

I've seen the Workhorse Baltic Porter but thought the 16 oz. 4 pack was a bit more than I was willing to pay at the time.

If any of these are distributed I don't see them in my area so will have to do some exploring. And just remembered that Suburban BC has Opie, which is a pretty good basic porter.

    Thanks!

@jts211 has a pretty good list above.

One more SEPA Porter that I would add is Brothers Kershner Pugsly Porter.

    Cheers!

Yeah, only some of them. If you cant find anything local then usually Founders Porter and Bells Porter are usually always on the shelf at my local beer stores.

I was just going to mention that one. Can't remember when I last saw it at my local spots so maybe I need to head toward some beer shops closer to Philly. And I don't recall seeing Founders or Bells; probably worth seeking out.

Many of the Giant's that sell beer carry it but unfortunately I do think that some of the stores will be sending it off to the graveyard soon, as from the looks of it I may be the only one buying it and I do so only occasionally. Wegmans has it also.

Oh yeah, Wegmans in Downingtown is not too far. Didn't know Giant may be getting out of the beer game. Around here we have Weis but they seem to have more wine than beer.

On the other hand I'm seeing a brown ale online tasting coming up so I may shift gears.

Giant is still in the game but they are not going to be carrying the slower movers anymore and some of those surprised me and a Giant near me this list included Victory Prima Pils and Brooklyn Lager

Found out today that Braeloch in Kennett Square has a tasty porter on tap and in cans, for those keeping track.

Not quite a local but at least in the region: Flying Dog Kujo Cold Brew Coffee Porter is on shelves now and I'm a big fan of this beer.

Deschutes Black Butte is a gem, nobody local is even close.

    Founders Porter is perfect.

And if you get lucky you might find Everett on draft this Winter.

If you're looking for something semi local, Spellbound's porter (and their Palo Santo aged variant) is a fantastic option.
