I really like 24k Tuesday. I do not like carrot cake, but that's mostly because of texture. This is basically like a spiced cake profile.

The spicing is strong. It's good but does get a bit intense after awhile. I also don't love the sweet after taste from the milk sugar but that's generally true for me.

Will I buy more? Hmm... It scratches the same itch for me as You Want a Piece Of Me, and I liked that one more, so I'll probably hold off to see how Save Me A Slice (or whatever the new name is) turns out.

 

Oh interesting! I was expecting a new Barleywine recipe but it's actually a fresh take on Melange 3!

Oh man, how I loved 2013 and 2014 Melange 3.

I'm assuming Hoarders only?

 

The 2021 HS page that teased it doesn't have it noted as HS only, so I'm guessing RS too and maybe more.

The new 2 Turtle Doves is great. I never had the original, and the re-brew two years ago didn't work for me. This one is a pretty standard dark Belgian style, just very well executed. Lots of flavor, balanced, clean and easy drinking.

 

That's exciting news! I've missed Melange 3, but thankfully still have a lot of it that I have been sitting on. I really should see how some of the earlier batches have been holding on.

 

Connor's Cobbler - Cracked one open last night, better than 2016 Hoarders Cuvee. Tons of raspberry and vanilla, EZ max for me.

 

Really? All 8?! I agree it was very good. I just can't help myself from buying at least a couple of the others and then an allocation of regular BT. Not to mention another couple hundred dollars of the other allocations this month. This is normally my largest $$$ month.

 

Melange 3 has always been one of my all time favorites and I too have been hoarding all the early bottles of it I can get. Over the past few months I can say that the 2010 is past its prime. I'm out of '11. I recently had '12 and '13 and they are drinking amazing!

 

I went crazy with the Hoarders Cuvee 2016 and was really let down when I ran out my last bottle a few years ago. Now that I have something to replace it.....well that was an easy decision for me! haha

 

Doctor's Orders is really good. All the listed flavors are identifiable and all blend and balance really well.

I've constructively criticized their cocktail beers in the past for being to cocktaily and losing all beer character, but this one hits the mark for me. It definitely tastes like a beer riffing on a concept.

The price point is still steep though... Plus I'm a little worried how well this many adjuncts will hold up over time. I'll grab a couple more for sure.

 

With all the love Mélange 3 gets, its a little odd that its disappeared from the lineup in recent years.

My first bottles were either 2011 or 2013's that I got in 2016, and they were some of the best Bruery I've had.

When 2017 came out it just didn't pop the same way. Plus I think they made a ton that sat around awhile because they ended up giving every member a free bottle. That's probably given them cold feet.
