This is interesting - not sure what to expect. Looking forward to it.

Seems possible/likely a bottle(s) of Festbier will be in there per this post from Chris. Although it isn’t totally accurate since non subscribers were able to buy bottles when it was released at each location.

Our 1/2 liter bottle supplier is dry, so we did not have an adequate amount for subscribers (and why PLP is draft only). So no Festbier in the subscription unfortunately. I should now by now to preface everything with "based on raw material supply".

Gotcha. Thanks. I remember you mentioning the bottle supply issue. Also related to PLP being draft only this round, if I recall correctly.

Bummer .. I get it though, not much you can do without the bottles.

Apologies if I missed this; did the Rauch hit distribution? I’ll be in the Springfield area next week…

Matt, I read this last paragraph as Punto and Fire Walk would be brewery/subscription only, but Dog & Pony would be the only one of the three that would make it to stores. I could be wrong though.

Was at Brighton last night. Pitch lined Pils is just fantastic!

I had a bottle in one of the subscription boxes, but man, this batch (and on draft!)
I think @ChrisLohring had mentioned somewhere that they had re-pitched the barrels
and I'm def getting more of that flavor.

Too much loss in canning start-up for PLP volume, and we are not putting Voll Projekt lager beers in cans anymore, just 1/2 liters, but if we can't find a steady supply this may need to change.

Correct v3 was from second use pitched barrels, while v4 is from newly pitched. I prefer the newly pitched as the resign really comes out.

This used to matter to me when there was only Salem to go to, but 1.8 miles away from Brighton changes everything!

Should be be dropping our empties off somewhere for you to reuse? I’m only half joking…

PLP is good. I wish The Standard was available for comparison.

I have no idea what my favorite Notch beer is but Tmavy is up there. Like I haven't had the Fest yet but I couldn't not get Tmavy. It was terrific as always.

The live music was good too.

I was there too! Agreed, Pitch Lined tastes a lot like Standard (same base beer I believe).

Tmavy is one of my favorites too. I’ve had a lot of it the last few weeks so I could resist a half liter of Fire Walk with Me. A well done Rauch is a beautiful thing.

Heading to Schilling tomorrow for some direct comparisons of stellar lager brewers…

Yeah, that's why I was wishing The Standard was available, to be able to have that direct comparison. Got cans of Fire Walk last week and looking forward to having more of it this weekend. Held off getting more cans cuz my friend has some stuff from VT. A well done Rauch is a beautiful thing but not for everyone. It's definitely for me though.

Not to hijack, but deeeeefinitely order the Schilling/Oxbow smoked bock. It's great. Also a pro tip that my bro in law just told me about, you can order food from the food truck and bring it over to the brewpub (which usually has the better taplist).

Been a few times recently and Festbier is up there with my very favorite beers of the year, it's unbelievable. That, Fire Walk, Gates of the West, and Biere D'Alsace might be my short list right now as far as Notch goes, which is up there with the best of anyone else. Definitely hoping the latter comes back soon, in my head it was even better than Standard/PLP/Swans but hard to really compare off memory.
