Good morning everyone! Enjoying one of my favorite Hazy and/or NEIPAs, this one from local brewer Hop Butcher moving to Chicago as I type this.

Full review in the New Beer Sunday #869 thread Bottom line, this is one now one of my all time favorite NEIPAs and Nelson Sauvin beers. So well executed, would love to compare side by side with some of the all time greats featured here regularly from Tree House and other world class breweries. Will definitely be making plans to hang with the Nelsons anytime they are available.

Starting my Sunday morning chores while sipping on a Toppling Goliath Flying Seahorses. Another banger from this brewery. Soooo good…

The Brewers and owners live in my town. This is nice and unique and at 8.6% it packs a pretty big punch.

 

Weihenstephaner Original Helles Lager

Light gold color with white cap and great lacing.

Aroma of sweet malt and clean, floral, spicy hops. Not a strong aroma but a good one.

Taste is classic lager, solid, slightly sweet malt with a marvelous hop influence that manages to complement the malt yet establish a delightful presence of it's own. The malt has a honeyish taste yet isn't really sweet, the hops are like flowers from which the honey was made. The product of a brewery whose roots go back 1000 years into the era of Monastic brewing and one wonders if the recipe was the result of divine revelation. Simple elements woven into a complex tapestry of flavor. Lingering aftertaste resolves into a creamy memory.

Texture is medium with balancing carbonation.

Overall it's easy to see why this one is World famous. A rare display of brewing skill that leaves the impression it could be made different but couldn't be made better.
